Well that doesn't look promising. Guess I'm not completing my headmasters anytime soon, if ever.

They may just be streamlining to cut costs. Online has no overhead but the behind the scenes stuff isn't cost-efficient.

Plus Endgame just got released. He's in stock at ShowZ, with the other Conehead resin prototypes up for pre-order. They're still here guys!

Yep. Some of the post from the last 24hrs are indicative of that.

Well, that explains the deep discount for Cupola and Ironwill on TFSource right now.

Until they fully stop shipping product or state that they are shutting down production, we can only assume they are shutting down. A reasonable assumption but still not yet verifiable.
Their public statements have been that they intend to complete the Coneheads and the two Headmasters they had to test-shot phase. Until they publicly state otherwise or fail to deliver them, we have no real reason to believe otherwise. The snail's pace of releases the past couple years indicates something changed. Whether that was funding related or a business decision has not been publicly stated. From what I heard, they were busy putting capital into other projects under different brand names in other universes (non-TF-related) so the MT brand languished. We'll see if that changes.

To be fair, MT probably made enough to survive past an apocalypse. Imagine what prices they'll be at MT store come BF when they are to shut down.

As to the store news, its no surprise and probably doesn't mean the end of MT at all. I think they had so much stock and saw an opportunity to sell direct but it ultimately didn't work out. I think I will be more concern after they finish up the G1 stuff, both seekers and headmasters.

Of course, I maybe taking up knitting or something else by then so I probably wouldn't care about TF's at that point.

While I’m not holding my breath to see anything new from them again, I don’t understand the obsession with declaring them definitively dead.

NO! That explains promotional strategies by TFSource as an inventory management tool and as a focal point for price-conscious consumers.

Looks like the Fansproject store is closing down, too.

The fact Maketoys Apeface will never see the light of day is a bloody crime, apart from the typical MT Despotron/Screamer hands it would've been spectacular.

I think Maketoys got too ambitious prematurely and spread themselves too thin with all the different product lines that they have. They committed to do too much but didn't have the needed resources.
They should've just had their RE: Master line (their G1 based MP scale line) and kept it at that like FT and XTB currently does.
I was looking forward to this as well. I wasn't blown away by the KFC version. Oh well, FT is now the best hope for 3P MP scaled versions of these Headmasters and Targetmasters.

What was the downfall? Diversification? Scale? Would they have survived (assuming the end is near) if they stuck with MP scale?
I absolutely loved their artistic direction with Computron and Superion. Had Maketoys produced them at the MP scale, I’d have paid out.

They're not shut down, it's a shifting of structure.
Product warranties should always be serviced by the retailer.
