I’m hoping they make 2 versions of him, cause the red adds a nice bit of color to the limbs given the 2 yellow arms.

From the looks of it, the only ones that will be in scale with MPM Prime are Mixmaster and possibly Rampage and Scrapper. I guess we have no reference for the other three as they were never shown in the film, but Overload and Hightower should be much larger than they are based on their alt modes. Hopefully once they are all revealed, we can get some good comparison shots.

Yeah, and when it’s not horrifically mistransformed it’s amazing.

These figures are all so close and yet so far. It’s like they’re the movie Decepticons with a coat of steam punk...just like 10% left of center, but that’s enough that even if I was still collecting I’d be passing on them.

edit: also they should teeeeechnically be bigger to be proper MPM scale...cause yah know undersized MPM-4 and all.....

My thing about MP scale is if youre trying to collect the whole cast (including the most obscure characters) it would be impossible, plus extremely expensive. Studio Series AKA CHUG Scale makes it possible.

Why the hell do people need to argue over which one people should buy?

If you want the SS one, to talk about it in its channel. If you like this one, talk about it here.

I’d say it’s impossible not to draw comparisons when there are two being revealed so closely to one another. Coming into a 3p thread and arguing against a thing might seem dubious, but then it goes both ways. We see comments in the thread for the official product, too. Healthy debate over which one people DO like is one thing - I do draw a line personally when people try to say which one you SHOULD like.

If the discussion goes “Hey I like this and this is why” and “well I hear you, but here’s what I don’t like” followed by “I can see what you’re saying, but overall this is the one for me” and ending with “that’s cool. Not my thing, but that’s why I’m glad there’s this other one” that would be just peachy. When you see “this thing is trash. You’re stupid if you like this” or “this is superior and you’re an inferior person for liking the other” however, that’s really where we need to be kinder to one another.

Obscure characters are a niche market. Very difficult to turn a profit at 3rd party prices. How many people would buy an MP Devcon ? Enough to make it worth the cost of design and production ? My opinion is nope. And also "expensive" can make it impossible for some collectors. Imagine troop building 3rd party MP KSI sentries.

Can anyone help confirm / clear up some confusion?

I saw comparison pics of mixmasters vehicle mode which appear to be next to MPM4 Prime (is that true?) which imply to me that the figures are close to MPM, yet I also saw SS Prime climbed on top of their Demolisher/Scavenger and SS Prime looked small. So this tells me scavenger would be not that much taller than MPM 4 which means he too small. Yet, I see his alt mode next to his Rotf/SS version and this 3P vehicle is huge, so im lost here.

TFSource has all of these guys listed at 7 inches (tall?) but they cant all be 7 inches as they are all different.

So all in all, I am confused about these figures sizes. Can anyone shed some light?

mmmmmm.......If I had the money I’d do it in a heart beat. And who knows, almost done with my undergrad, maybe I won’t have to imagine in a couple years ;) . Also, clearly my friend, you have underestimated the popularity of Devcon.

IMO if they had a name, they’ll probably sell.

So Vehicle mode wise, Mixmaster is basically MPM, but this doesn't mean Devastator or the rest are. For instance, the Scavenger and SS Prime image was Photoshopped (if you look at some of Primes leg wheels they're all wacky) and Scavenger is no where near that large.

Basically what I'm saying is, at the moment. The scale for these is whatever they want to be to make Devastator work. (Maybe some MPM, maybe some SS scale etc.)

I also prefer a red rampage. We know him so much more from his scene with Bumblebee where he was red, and it looks better to have the variety as opposed to a whole side of devy and part of the other side be yellow.
If only it were that easy...Have you been in this thread before now? People constantly drop in to compare them to studio series. All I do is respond when people seem wrong or unreasonable.

The picture of SS Prime on Scavenger was very photoshopped, so don't take it to show scale/size at all.
