Not having to deal with QC, QA, breakage tests, and likely using some chinese sweatshop that works for a dime helps a lot in getting third party products out fast.

That has been tried before, and....

To be fair, Hasbro has some terrible QC. The MP Soundwaves they churned out fast as TRU exclusives? My Buzzsaw was painted so quickly that it fused the tail fin shut and literally snapped when I tried to transform it. That's not only terrible QC, it's also a major choking hazard for kids.

Then there's the terrible floppiness in their non-pinned Generations toys! You shouldn't pay $20 and have to repair the toy straight out of the package. :banghead:  I've had some TR toys break while stored in a box, but that clearly has nothing to do with poor quality plastics. My TR Brainstorm snapped off his wings because of the weak hinge plastic that held the wings in place! Again, the small plastic pieces produced are a clear choking hazard!

So when you say "not dealing with QC, QA"... I think you forgot to say that Hasbro has not really been dealing with it lately, either! :lol  And since we don't have these toys in-hand, it's impossible for you to make the claim that these 3P Devy's will have bad QC. Nor do you know how they were manufactured, so relying on China tropes to assume things is really bad. China is one of the fastest growing economies in the world, and labor costs are going UP. I think if they could churn these out in sweatshops, they would lower the price to sell more units (i.e. go for mass appeal, rather than niche, rich!).

I have seen 3Ps treat customers with more respect (i.e. replacement parts for free) than Hasbro, so it's unfortunate to see some people make broad assumptions and attack these guys, when all they want to do is provide a better product. And to be even more fair: without the pressures from 3P, Hasbro would have never made combiners or so many MP toys. ;)  For all we know, this 3P Devy may be so impressive as to inspire some future Hasbro designs (you've seen the Hasbro interviews where employees have 3P toys in the background, on their shelves/desk? :lol ).

But this is not meant to offend you. I'm talking to haters in general, not you specifically. I grabbed your comment because it was the most recent, not to specifically argue or make you feel bad! :)  I don't think your comment was all that hateful anyway. :thumb

pretty damn much. Comparing a $1,000 3rd party figure to a $250 official? Come on people. They don’t need comparing and shouldn’t be.

does this look nice? Sure! But it also looks like something we’re gonna he hearing about it breaking or the combined mode is an unstable mess not unlike I think it was toyworlds Dinobot combiner that looked amazing and stable until until the final figure came out and became just so unstable. Two people I know first hand invested so much into that thing and their happiness disappeared when they completed him.

maybe I’m jumping to conclusions but this thing...I’m interested in first hand impressions when it’s completed because a first time group making something so bold doesn’t sound so promising. Just looks like it’s all going to come crumbling apart attempting to put it together especially being a 3rd party.

Easy to say 3rd parties customer service is better when a group only turns out half a dozen figures a year and has the ability to give you a replacement because it’s one of the few they make at a time because you manhandle your toys too much and break them.

For a company like hasbro that turns out over a thousand toys a year? Yeah sorry, go get another one off the shelf if you break your toy.

I’m actually now wondering, you’ve made it very clear that you hate third party with a passion (even more clear here) so......

    Sigh.

Seeing that I'm realizing I'm probably going to have to buy doubles of all of them.

    Wow!

I think this is how Devi climbed the pyramids. Look where they end up in combined form.

Honestly, I don't remember this guy from ROTF at all (aside from being "hand with hooks guy"). But this figure almost looks worth it as a Standalone.
He can go with 3P Blackout and Bonecrusher.

For Devy I agree. But for me personally, the individual modes are the real selling point. I like to have the team displayed. The fact that they look like bugs makes them so awesome. But they have to scale with studio series in individual robot modes for me to consider. Plus overload not having a crab mode was a major let down.

But think how much more fun it would be at MP scale :p  (plus if not done by hasbro there wouldn’t be budget restraints.)

Yeah he truly looks fun on his own. I don't really have an interest in this set as a whole (SS Devy will fill my needs) he looks great as a standalone Decepticon.

While I want an ROTF Devastator that can hold its quadruped-self up, I'll probably keep him in parts in a diorama with LT-02 wearing Iron Warrior's Jetfire kit. Biggest let down was not seeing those two fight. Even if it can't hold together I'll have Prime tearing him apart for the sake of my headcanon.

Depends on the final price of the set but I'm optimistic that as a new company, they'll want people buying the whole set.

I just really want to see how tall he is. I need him to be at least as tall as MPM Prime or I'll be sad.

Maybe they just, you know, actually did their work and finished the figures before showing them off? These are also grey protos anyways.
Many third party companies have made it evidently clear they have QC tests by delaying products or company reps stating issues that are being fixed on the boards. Even if there are issues they release replacement parts.

Why are you even on this thread?

This set will be about $1k? Too bad it's out of my spending range. Never really liked the Bverse devy, but awesome designers and quality production coupled with good pricing always draws me in...but the total, too many units...the total. ;)

That’s just a guess atm. Realistically I would imagine it being closer to other 3p combiners at around 400-500. 1K is pretty far fetched tbh given they aren’t even really MP scale.
