I actually thought that scene looked pretty dam good.

Odd of you to assume I’m a geewuner when I’m not old enough to be one (and ffs my profile pic is bayvers barricade). I semi grew up with the movies loving the designs, toys, but not the movies. I’m someone who likes both G1 designs and movie designs. Me simply explaining what someone else meant by their post does not give a valid reason to blast me as a hater.

Also you’d be surprised how many bayverse lovers come into G1 threads. (And vise versa) it’s just a thing that happens and should be ignored.

The more I see, the more I am looking forward to completing this one, but I am also glad I've been picking up doubles because the individual figures are just as interesting. Is it a big mess? Yes. I'm no fan of the movie designs usually, but they went so far out in left-field it was hard for me not to appreciate what they came up with. Can't wait to see the final two renders and pick up the last four to complete Devastator.

When the hell did I smash bayverse devestator? I was arguing why a G1 devy has no reason to be hunched over as that is how that character is meant to be. That has nothing to do with bayverse devestator who is meant to be hunched over. Are you looking to argue for no reason?

 

Blue is generally the cheapest color in plastics.

 

im still hoping for a sdcc "premium" styled repaint(doesnt have to be accurate all it needs to be is PREMIUM with more painted details)
of course a full g1 repaint, maybe base some of the coloring on the rotf mixmaster (back road brawl) and longhaul(rotf voyager which isnt the same green as the studio series or even some of the plastics)

as far as i remember, there are some "official" repaints for some of the designs, and other canceled decos as well that could make for a good second set, so here is the idea for some of them, with the possible names and reasoning)

white - scavenger(demolishor movie character that has the same design, of course, we all know this one)
yellow - longhaul(payload, since there are both the hftd toy AND the game drones)
silver - mixmaster(quickmix?, the one that battled jetfire was less dark grey and more a silver, ish, with gold highlights, vehicle maybe the same color but robot mode sure was way lighter than the color used for the studio series which seems based on the dotm game itself, and the g1 colors would work better in a full g1 repaint)
yellow - rampage(skipjack, concepts and first rotf toy, and other smaller toys as well, of course this one should exist)

now for the least know colors
red - scrapper AND scrapmetal (because of the cancelled legends figure that was to come with a rotf megatron repaint, since it was to represent the 4 constructicons in megatron's resurrection scene, it is supposed to be scrapmetal but name and and vehicle was...scrapper, so it would work for both, also none of them have an alternative color scheme anywhere else, so buying again yellow scrapper and scrapmetal would be lame)
brown - hightower (basically the tales of the fallen comics had 6 constructicons, basically no overload and no scrapmetal, but the funny thing is the robot mode for the crane constructicon was...a brown slightly different BONECRUSHER...)
purple - overload(its only comic appearance was in the background and was next to a greenish scrapper, and rampage, but scavenger was red, so it coudlnt have been the "deep water" tint, since the other 2 where not that green, they dont count, but is the only other color seen for overload)

so thats my idea, hope hasbro sees this,

well, the missile launchers on the shoulders are accurate to the movies, although i remember him using more to launch cables to not loose balance on the pyramid but the point is they exist

edit: in fact random explosions start happening near skids and Simmons and Leo, which means someone must be firing , but the only decepticon is....you guessed it, devastator, so they DO work as missile pods

 

Yeah, exactly!  

I pretty much hate Bay-verse stuff... but I also like weird, bizarre TFs!   So this Devastator is a complete contradiction that might be perfect for me?  

That said, I can't help but feel he looks TOO MUCH like a pile of junk.   In other words, he will not display well with any other bots.... (assuming you're more a fan of G1 than Bay-verse).

 

I mean some bay bots very pretty cool in terms of design like Stinger or Jazz, and although Devy looks pretty weird is due to him being mis-transformed
I consider the gray model is when an actual person who collects Transformers will properly combine to show how amazing he actually is with his gears and plates, right now he just sick from a "careless transformation" which causes him to look the way he does

 

I’ll be surprised if we don’t get at least a Demolisher repaint of Scavenger and. Skipjack repaint of Rampage. Really hoping for the last one for more accuracy.
At the very least then it will match my set for the legends (to a degree) since o have the red Rampage and White Demolisher repaints.

 

We probably might get a repaint of them in 2020 along with a Grindor repaint of Blackout

 

I would add that the color-explosion isn't helping things!  

I think some darker, junkier colors would be better... and hopefully the final copy has that. Otherwise, it's like throw some mud on the toy!

The junk vibe works with this combiner. I think a proper display would be a junkyard with Devy rising out of the garbage like a beast.  

But I have no idea what I'll do with mine!   I'll probably combine him, appreciate him for a bit, and then toss him up on eBay! Or maybe I'll put him hunched over on a shelf, with a G1 character diving into him with a sword?   THE BEAST MUST DIE!!!!
