Man this is a stupid fucking design. Toy seems spot on, but damn if the constructicons aren't among the worst of the movie transformers.

It's interesting how you started out by trying to disprove me, but then eased into a firm 'it doesn't matter because it's fiction'

 

I brought up the fiction bit in the very part I was supposedly “disproving” because it doesn’t matter if I’m wrong on that end, it’s science fiction, and physics is thrown out the window.

 

If being right about it didn't matter to you, then you'd have just moved on, instead of throwing up 'It's fiction' as a defense

 

The reason I continued is you make it seem like seeing a G1 devestator standing straight up, in a movie, is impossible cause physics. Something that does not apply in fiction because it is a fictional universe made to have fun with. Giant mechanical giants who have souls do not exist, so we make them up and have fun with it. There is no fun to be had if all we do is go “well that just ain’t possible” or “physics wouldn’t allow for that!”

Then why not lead with a phrase along the lines of 'it doesn't matter because it's fiction'?

(As opposed to initially debating me over the physics, but then resorting to condescendingly explaining the concept of fiction when your arguments were countered)

 

I don't think any designer ever made the argument that Devastator walks like a gorilla because of physics. They just thought this looked more bestial and cool. We have seen early Devs designs where he was more G1-like and walked on 2 legs, but they changed it because I guess they liked this better. Physics matter very little, when in the same movie we had Sam and Mikaela being dropped from about a 100 meters from a helicopter while inside a car and survive.  

They are only coming next year spring, so likely there are no mass produced samples yet. We have not even seen CGI model reveals.

I can never remember these third party company names. I assumed he meant the new third party Bayformers Devastator by Toyworld.

 

Bombusbee (or Devil Savior, as they seemingly switched names) is making the third party ROTF Devastator, with the combined mode hanging around roughly ss scale

Even if not correctly transformed, and some pieces are missing (Hightower's arm, and the concrete mixer cabin behind the combiner's neck...), the almost correct hunched posture, already gives us an idea of when this "pile of scrap" will be fantastic, when it will finally be complete! When I compared them in this photo, I realized how much more interesting this new version is that is being realized... imagining then, some additional components that for example the DNA Design, can realized to complete it: 1) the cables for the crane, 2) those two "small wings" behind the neck of the combiner (which in the CGI of the film, are formed by pieces of the hull of the excavator), 3) the two pairs of rocket launchers on the shoulders... I believe that Devastator SS, will be a contiuous "source of surprises"!

That said, I don't get what the other arm/hand is all about. Thats Scrapper, right? Why does it look like a hook?

But for $260, your still getting 2 deluxes, 4 voyagers, and 2 leaders, at normal retail prices that all Transformers at the same scales are going for right now. Is that by itself not reasonable?

 

Because scrapper is horribly, woefully, mistransfromed. To the point i don't even think he is transformed. Its like they just took the figure, dropped it on the floor, and attached it to Devastator.

 

well, blitzwing flying battle aginst bumblebee , it looked fake as hell when he moved in the air, so yeah, still not realistic , even if the designs can be "translated" intro the big screen, their movements cant, nostalgia much

also, this is a thread about the bayformer, stop whining about how it is not to your liking because is not knightverse or pure geewun, we dont go to geewun threads blasting into space g1 designs because how dumb, or outdated they are either
