The jinbao version has the missiles in the back of the hands and the missiles inside the arms can be taken out and put on the outside.

That was why I mentioned it - that is a feature that is a bit different on almost every version - in the original and the Daban they are just cosmetic, on the NBK they rotate around and on the Jinbao they are a removable & repositionable piece.

No idea what the JJ does. But at least it's nice to know at least one version has the optimal number of rockets.

The more I look at it, the more I suspect this would have been an issue at the original size and weight if the design was simply scaled. The weight is clearly a contributing factor, but it seems to be an issue of torque primarily - and the original would still have had a decent amount of torque against the joint. So either the joints in the cab roof are considerably tighter (ratcheted?) on the original, there's more of a ledge to stop the roof folding inside the cab, or there's something which is so precisely scaled as to form a "lock" on the original which didn't quite get oversized properly (or got simplified without consideration for side-effects).

I'm going to keep looking. This has me perplexed, since the rest of the figure is so well designed it just seems like a baffling oversight.

*ed: More looking has yielded the following.... bupkis. There's not so much any missing piece as there isn't even any provision for such a piece to go. Mechanically, the only thing that stops him just going tip-toe on that side is the top of the cab up against that silver drum, but there simply isn't enough resistance on the cab hinge to support the torque. Putting the feet up against the "ankle" helps but isn't really a fix; though it is holding on mine for now.

I'm almost certain now that there's a ledge which should be there but simply isn't, either along the sides of the cab roof or the front - or both - to hold those roof panels in place against the drum. Without an original GT to compare to, however, I can't be sure whether that's a design oversight or the result of a JB modification.

PS I wouldn't fully retract the bumper, either. The wheels stick down slightly past the bottom of the sides of the cab, so without the bumper keeping them up off the surface he's going to get more unstable as the foot tries to roll (Scraper's wheels are level with his "sole", thus no problem).

Would you be able to provide the final transformed leg mode Pic? I'm more of a visual guy.

    Sure!

The little part you see sticking up next to the smoke stack is the heel. Note that those wheels are fully retracted and are only just not on the ground, despite the fully-deployed bumper.

From inside, you can see the feet tucked against the back. This is where they'd normally be while in truck mode, just that the roof of the cab is also down in that mode.

What I can't capture clearly in pictures, though, is that the ankle joint is angled downward from the cab roof to the feet. This offers just a little bit more support to the roof, which in turn supports the silver canister more, which in turn holds Devastator upright. I can't help but feel that if the insides of the cab to either side of the moving panels was made thicker and extended in basically to where the ankle connects (with a trench for the edge of the moving panels), this whole setup would have been substantially more stable without interfering with transformation or articulation. That or some means to peg/brace/"thoop" the end of said panels into the cab's hinges.

I find that folding the heels out and tucking them into the purple crotch area helps with the stability. They're not supporting weight so there shouldn't be any risk of damage, just stopping a bit of forward/backwards wobble.

I installed the upgraded parts and put them in combined mode today. I still love these guys in their single bot modes but next to Constructor it just doesn't look right to me. So these will remain my "MP" team in bot mode while Constructor will be my "MP" Devastator.

Nice shot! I always thought these would make a great IDW/Comic Devastator for my shelf.

They are great! Their combined mode is fantastic and doesn't need the thigh extensions if you ask me. The boost just makes him look like a little kid wearing his dad's shoes. But if you positioned him on a shelf behind some shorter guys it would probably pass as an MP-ish Devvy. Head to head, the Gravity Builder bot modes beat the TW ones and upscaled they fit into an MP shelf perfectly.

I've read that buying these items from Ebay could be risky for scammers, maybe choosing Amazon shops where is stated "Fulfilled by Amazon" is the safest option?

I'd buy from a trusted site or seller. Sadly ShowZ is sold out, Smartlulu's AE store is empty but HZJ has them in stock and is very trustworthy.

Arm bots are the easiest to move between modes so that's what you get for now!

Very nice. Personally I am in the Jinabo camp(generation toy). I prefer the detail and design that GT gave us. Is there a reason that you have the Jinbao shoulder extended way out on the digger side but closed in on the dozer??

It was extended, it's just the angle obscuring the view.

They're nice and beefy. Maybe not detailed on an MP level but they look good and work great for me.

Until Fans Toys gets around to theirs.

Sometimes in the midst of a drunken brawl your shirt ends up backwards. Shit happens when you party hard.
