I will get this figure but I can't help but think he looks odd in some ways. First, the legs look really long. Second, the tire kibble on his back really hurts his silhouette IMO even more so than the backpack on Siege Voyager Prime. I know Siege's was bigger, but it was uniform up and down his back so it looked more like part of his design than actual kibble. And then there is the chest that juts out. I don't know, I like him, but I think Siege might actually be better since G1 accuracy isn't my main concern.

Good news for team yellow eyes: I just popped my Siege Prime’s head off and just pulled it to see what would happen, and turns out the head wasn’t glued at all. If this holds true for ER Prime, it’ll be a simple matter to paint the eyes whatever color you want!

There are three reused parts. The feet, biceps, and the head come from Siege. The legs and abs appear to be based on the same 3D model with retooling. All else is new.

I think Astrotrain is an easy pill to swallow. I know the cartoon Astrotrain didn’t have the tender, but as a train enthusiast, I like its inclusion. The weapons can also be stored inside it so you’re not having to put them on the side (potentially losing one of them) or pegging them on his train or shuttle mode. And it’s also a launch pad for his shuttle mode. For me, I actually feel like I’m getting my $50 worth. Admittedly, I am an Astrotrain fan boy so I might be slightly biased, but oh well.

Shockwave I agree with. The figure is utter nonsense. There was no reason they couldn’t figure out a better alt mode for the figure that didn’t need to include so much unnecessary junk thus inflating the price.

Pretty sure the blue hands ones are test shots or something. Unless something has changed (and I doubt it based on recent boxed pics), Hasbro flat out told us he’d have gray hands.

Makes me wish Hasbro would stuff a leader class box with piles of plastic panels. Paint one of the panels with OPs face and ship that. Then you’d really satisfy the “more plastic, equals more value” crowd.

Top it off with a “now with 25% more raw plastic” sticker on the face of the box.

It’s like we’re shopping for bulk dry goods instead of an actual figure!

Because we now have in-hand pics from 3 different sources (Phamduc a couple weeks ago, an unknown source on Instagram, and now TonTon) showing actual samples of the final figure with blue painted hands and codpiece.

There being a difference in paint between these "final" in-box stock images from Hasbro and actual product samples isn't new recently, we had a similar thing happen with Studio Series Leader DOTM Optimus, where the "final" Hasbro images had the ab piece unpainted, but the actual final figure had silver paint on it.

Don't forget, these "final" Hasbro stock images do not necessarily represent the final product, as seen with Studio Series DOTM Prime I mentioned. And how would 3 separate people, including a reviewer that always gets the final product (TonTon), all have the same exact test shot?

Honestly it could go either way. As pointed out earlier, in box images of one of the studio series primes had unpainted abs, but when he released he had silver abs, so in box stock photos aren’t always accurate

likewise, barricade and fracas from siege also show that renders and box art aren’t always accurate

we’ve seen 2 different in hand prototypes (nycc and Takara blue elbow with molding differences) and at least 1 physical version with blue hands that look painted (not sure if the multiple sources are all the same figure)

so really it’s still up in the air till someone actually gets a finished product from the store

Yes :(  the port sticking out like that is kinda too...obvious for my...things.

Will still get it, but maybe I'll cut the port if it won't look too bad after doing it.

And then Hasbro releases a variant with yellow eyes, red biceps, blue hands and blue leg panels. Maybe in an Amazon exclusive three pack or some anniversary edition.

If not, this one's close enough.
