I saw the Astrotrain there, but I just couldn't pull the trigger for that mark up for what is essentially a voyager figure.

It's supposed to be released for the first wave of the next line anyway. ​

Just be aware that there are acids in those plastic totes that can have a negative impact on your MISB figures.

You can do what I do and go to your local comic shop and buy a package of acid free comic bags. Then place your figures in those and then wrap that in bubble wrap (again, look for the acid free bubble wrap). Then take all of that and put it in a tote.

 

But it's a Voyager Class with platform flip-flops and a big Death Stranding backpack full of guns, haha.

I actually really like it, markup notwithstanding. Although mine ended up with a couple of QC issues (nothing I'd try to actually return it for, but annoying; one of the flappy parts on the base/trailer has some plastic flash on the joint that makes it pop off really easily [looks fixable], and one of the under-wing train-wheel pieces is slightly bent [not enough that it looks terrible in train mode, but enough that you definitely notice it during transformation]).

 

If anyone is still looking for Soundwave and his tapes, the Walmart at 7430 Bell Creek Rd in Mechanicsville has what appears to be one case of each. Multiples of the tapes sets.

As an aside, has anyone seen Trypticon at a local Ross in the last week or so? I've been hitting the two west side ones almost daily and didn't see any, but mysteriously Oddballs antiques has two in stock for $80 that they didn't have a few weeks ago... I don't really see much modern stuff at Oddballs, is this sort of scalping a regular thing for them?

 

I think Oddballs hits up Ollies, Ross, etc. in the area and resells what they find. When Overlord was in Ross several months ago, there were none in the Ross stores in the West End of Richmond, but Oddballs had 8-9 of them, all marked up to regular retail ($45).

I was at Oddballs about a couple months ago and saw 2 Trypticons on the left side of the store (left as you're entering), opposite the section that includes TFs, He-Man, and the like. The Tryps were in a dusty old curio cabinet. Those 2 may have been moved to that toy booth.

 

Ah, well in that case maybe I will find one at Ross? I've been in a few times but never really go to the non toy section. Thanks for the info.

 

I think the two you saw have been there for a while, but were recently moved from one area of the store to the toy section. I think Tryps are long gone from discount retailers.

Picked up the single pack series 4 Bot Bots (Blue bubble) from the Chantilly Target this morning. I believe it was 1 thru 22 but I have to sit down and check them. Nothing else worth mentioning.

Greenbrier Target had some Wave 5 Micromasters, I snagged the Ratbat/Frenzy.

 

I saw the Direct Hit set, it's still there, face paint on one of the guys was really bad.

Saw this was still at fair lakes so i grabbed it today. Ratbat and rumble were gone. They also had a new magnus, so i assume astrotrain was there too.

 

Went to the Town Center Target (Independence) and they didn't have any of the Micromasters.

 

Mosaic Target also has a couple of those Micromaster Battle Squads, but none of Ratbat & Rumble.

 

I saw a few there the other day as well. I also saw Ultra Magnus there.

I'm not entirely sure Magnus is the wavemate to Astrotrain. I'm just assuming.


I'm not really interested in the ratbat or rumble. I was pretty disappointed by ravage and Lazerbeark so this new one is a definite pass.
