The universe snarl minicon just...Wasn't good in my opinion. Repainting it years ago into Cheetor wasn't a good idea either. So this time around I built a new Minicon Cheetor from scratch: Some quick notes: - Full knee bend, ball jointed hips/elbows/shoulders. Hips&Head can rotate 360. Beast mode head&tail are completely flexible. - Beast mode could have been better, but I wanted to make the robot mode as spot-on-smooth as possible. - Tail and Beast neck are made out of plastic twist-ties. Giving them complete flexibility without any trouble remaining in place. - Beast Head is actually a resin cast of the Minicon Snarl head. - Gut gun included and attaches to the back of the pelvis for beast mode. Slides over left or right hand and has no problem staying on without scraping the hand's paint thanks to the wrist bulge. Scales nicely with Big Bot, but still ready to leave some marks on any Predacon he can get his paws on. Jumping Gyros, it's a little me! And a comparison with the Universe Snarl I repainted into Cheetor about five years ago. Working on a Tigatron as well, and I definitely want it to be a little bigger and bulkier than Cheetor so it won't just be a repaint of this. It'll probably be done by next week.
Thanks, I appreciate it. Also if anyone has any critique on the way I designed this I would love to hear it so I can make Tigatron better than this was.
I'm not sure how you would fix this, but the beast mode neck is a little too thin. The tail as well, but it is not that bad. That looks awesome though.
I was definitely planning to thicken the tail for Tigatron, the head is a bit more difficult because of the transformation though. I did have a full neck originally, but trying to bend it back for Robot mode was just too bulky. In hindsight, a hingejoint might be worked better if I gave up neck articulation for it.
Hey, so I'm working on a tiny beast-bot myself, and I just wanted to know what was the base figure you used? It's obviously not the other version of Cheetor, but I can't quite place it.
You should also check on the alternate of this mold : Minicon Tigatron. That way you can decide if you want to go for one based on this or that. This Cheetor is mostly made from a Powercore Combiner Airlift But you could get a similiar effect using PCC Pinpoint The arms are a scratchbuild using the hips&arms of Caliburst mixed with the hipjoints of...I think Armada Astroscope, whose legs also form the beast mode leg panels under the arms. In contrast, Tigatron's torso was built from one of the Armada racecar minicons with PCC Throttler arms tossed on.
The beast mode would look a lot better if his neck weren't so long and skinny. It needs to be thicker to scale better with that head and just a tiny bit shorter. He looks like his head's going to fall off at any minute and it's uncomfortable to look at. Otherwise it looks good just fix that beast mode neck.
