I've never liked the over the top weapon style either. It's one of the many reasons I prefer games like Zelda, the Elder Scrolls series and Assassins Creed (though the latter does use historical weapons for the most part).

To me the axes seem almost comically large, and not at all realistic. They're nice options for those who do like that style though.

 

Okay I think I'm gonna have to cave on this guy when he comes out. The feet on truck mode are a big negative for me but my God that bot mode is just way too delicious to pass up.

I've been thinking about the transformation. I hope this guy brings some new and nice techniques to the table. I don't want him to just be an average cut and dry Optimus transformation. I hope it's ingenious but not overly complex. Dx9 Hot Rod is now my comparison for all things 3p movie. I hope this guy is as clever yet undifficult as that guy

 

Yeah don't care about the alt mode. It's good enough.

I am more worried about QC.

 

QC on their smaller FS figures is generally great, paint quality is fantastic and tolerances are generally good.

Considering the extended time they've been working on this hopefully it stands up well. (Literally, hopefully it stands up haha)

 

Anyone know the stand that comes with the Deluxe version, does it extend?

Looks like tfsource, bbts, robot kingdom, and chosen prime dont have it... i would say a fair amount do.

Agree with you agreeing with me haha   I actually miss the days of the first couple movies where the weaponry was mostly integrated into their bodies. It got rid of the "where do the weapons go?" thing that plagues most of TFs. By dotm though Optimus was pulling entire arsenals out of his ass practically (even though he had the trailer, most of the weapons still came out of his arms or back?), but at least he could flip stuff out still. Like where would this prime put all his shit when he's not using it?
