Was just wondering how the quality of plastic, paint, and joints are between the two.

Plastic quality is god on both. WJ is the shiny polished plastic... DX9 is matte unpolished. DX9 plastic has that slight rubbery give feel to some pieces. Joints (hips/legs/arms/shoulders) on both are good. Some had issues with the early DX9 hips not working, but mine have been good. It is a later release copy though. WJ is really solid. No wiggle, loose joints, holds more dynamic poses, and has a wider range of articulation if you like to pose bots for pics.

WJ also has more paint and the added factory tampo-graphics. More detailed painted parts too on the chest and arms in bot mod. DX9 is more sparse and you get a small sheet of 10-15 stickers to apply if you want. The lack of LED eyes on DX9 is my biggest complaint. But you get the rotating control panel in the head as a make-up feature.

The lights/sounds/motorized tank were the big reasons I got the WJ version. The LED eyes and motorized tank should have been a given on all 3P Omegas (especially on FT Term-Giga). The tank is smaller but motorized on the WJ... but the base is bigger and way more detailed.

DX9 is closer to G1 toon look and accuracy (if you fold-out the back track wings). So if you prefer G1 toon DX9 is your huckleberry. Otherwise, WJ is a more semi-Siege-like modern interpretation.

the WJ omega is awesome when it comes to build and electronics. there is no doubt about that part but he isnt gabriel.

in a perfect world you would have a hybrid omega that is DX9 gabriel with the WJ electronics and the finishing details of the FT omega.

I still see the appeal of the WJ and had seriously considered it for quite a bit before the BBTS Gabriel sale happened. I do think both it and Gabriel look better than the FT although I can't state exactly why. I think it might be how "blocky" and square most of the FT aesthetic has.

"I'm your huckleberry" derives from Huckleberry Finn and means essentially "I'm game" while at the same time suggesting that "I'm going to be more trouble than you can handle," because Huck Finn was a lot of trouble, which is why it was so apt when Doc Holliday said it to Johnny Ringo. It's also disputed: some believe what he actually said was, "I'm your huckle bearer." A huckle is the handle on a casket which means it's essentially the same as saying "I'm your pallbearer."

What does any of this have to do with Omega? Nothing really but I doubt he's going to be your pallbearer and I also doubt he's going to be more trouble than you can handle. But, given his extra playability, I would agree that he's definitely more game than the others.

[Edit] ... though Omega would certainly be game to be Starscream's, Thundercracker's, Skywarp's, Rumble's, Frenzy's, or Buzzsaw's huckle bearer :p

I was going for the Val Kilmer reference from Tombstone ;) ... but good to know the Huck Finn reference as well. Twain used so much colloquial speech from the time period, it's hard to keep track of. Especially in today's world of tweets, #-tags, and such. I'm not much of a tweeter, or tagger myself. ;)

Oh no, it was the Doc Holliday quote I was referring to. There's just some dispute about what the actual Doc said, whether he was referencing Twain or a casket. Either way it makes sense. Kilmer definitely said Huckleberry, though.

At this price don't even contemplate WJ, Gabriel murders it.

Unless you're partial to Combiner Wars titans aesthetic, them WJ fits right in. More so than the official Omega imo. He's very detailed in a chug way.

    WJ: CHUG
    DX9: Kobayashi style MP
    FT: Hasui style MP

Just got my Gabriel from BBTS (its been in my POL for a while).

WOW! Really great piece. I knew the height, but I didnt realize his depth. Those shoulders are appropriately big and thick chunks. I just imagined him to be thinner. He looks great and the joints all seem fine thus far.

Im looking forward to transforming him later tonight.

    Im very pleased with him.

Whoa really? Did you order him during the sale or a long time ago? I know a lot of BBTS preorders seem to always say they are releasing in the current month but just never arrive. I was starting to wonder if this batch was actually coming or if it’s a random hold for possible future sales.

I bought him in August, before the sale.

BBTS was the last place to have him in stock and I was afraid I was gonna miss him.

i think the $220 sale happened within a few weeks of my order. :(

But Im very pleased. Probably my favorite figure in my collection.

    LOVE HIM!

Only one more week, left in Nov. I wonder if BBTS will actually get him in, or if it will slip to Dec.

Yeah, I’m starting to think it’s more like “Hey, if we ever get any in the future, we’ll give you a call!”

The preorder was initially for Dec...then they changed it to Nov. Maybe they had it right to start.

With MP-45 Bee and FT Sovereign recently released, I was hoping Gabriel wouldn’t come out until next month. Ah well, if it comes out the last week of this month, I’ll deal. Can’t complain about having an MP representation of Omega Supreme that’s this awesome.

To any gabriel owners, would it be possible to fit him into a roller bag (like the sort you take overseas to store luggage), and if so, what would be the most compact way you could configure him to fit in said bag. I know this might sound like a really weird request and might not even be feasible but I'm going overseas tomorrow and have my eyes on a really good deal for gabriel but I'm worried that I'll run into issues because of size issues.

you could definitely take him right out of the box and put him in a roller. hell i think he could even fit in a backpack if need be.

but my question is why dont you just check him in on the flight coming back. he is a small enough box and some airlines charge less for boxes than luggage.
