The perfect effect KO's are super rare anymore. If you are upgrading your original combiners I suggest going for the TDW kits. They're (mostly) pretty well priced.

 

yeah, I noticed, even the KO versions are hard to come by.

 

That Yellow UW gave him though is amazing. CW can't even compete with its sickly safety-yellow.

 

What does TDW stand for?

 

Transform Dreamwave. Off the top of my head, I know they've made kits for Superion, Volcanicus, Abominus, Bruticus and Defensor.

Hello combiner peoples, I've created another fix-up part for Devastator that I'd like to share with you all.

People have had problems with the tab where Scrapper's shovel locks in for combined mode. It's broken or worn out for some people, ruining Devastator's ability to stand. This part holds the shovel in place another way, so the foot will stay together if that tab has failed.

It's hard looking at some of these combiner wars figures compared to Siege/Earthrise lol.

 

What a journey this combiner has been on.

Originally I just wanted to build a random combiner that I could give an original name and backstory. So I bought the cheapest torso and limbs I could find on Ebay. Picture one was the end result. At this point I had no intention of getting the rest of the aerialbots because they were too expensive on Ebay. But then I found two of them for pretty cheap. So I bought them and to replace the Ironhide and Trailbreaker that I wanted to move to other combiners. Then I figured it wouldn't be right to just have two of them, so I bought two more.

Come Saturday I'll finally have a (somewhat) Superion. I didn't realize the Firefly I bought was the G2 version (which is luckily the same color as the G1 version) and I couldn't find a Slingshot for less than $90 so I replaced him with G2 Airraid. But he'll still be Superion for me.

And with that, I will probably be done with Combiner Wars forever. Honestly, I'd be lying if I said I didn't want more combiners. But it's just not feasible to try and hunt down some of the releases I don't have. Sometimes I wish I would have known about CW when it started, but I also realize I probably would have spent even more money than I already have on the line if I had had easier access to it. But I am thankful I found it when I did. I love combiners and I love upgrades and I love customizing them with different configurations.

I sincerely hope that Hasbro revisits this idea sometime within the next five or so years. It would be awesome to get updated molds and engineering for some of the combiners.
