It's not an exact parallel, but the high end for modern GunPla use an internal metal frame for both stability (and looking cool). FT-FM having an inner metal frame that the plastic wraps around isn't an improbable way of handling the stability given the relative simplicity of the transformation. Would really only need it from the hips down as the upper body/arms won't need to deal with the same weight constraints.

As much as I'd like to give ShowZ a small 3 year loan, until an MSRP is announced pre-ordering seems a bit pre-mature as they'll almost certainly be another flood of openings as people rush in/out when the price point is confirmed. What would really be sadistic is if this guy was only available mail-in with clipped proofs of purchase. Hope you guys saved your boxes  .
