Comparing this to the Takara you can see that the trailer on the inside of that one and these pics would be the same. Same colors differences in the same places.

You people are being ridiculous. I’m perfectly happy with my Siege Optimus and I don’t really need the Earth Rise Figure if he’s going to have such an eyesore color at his hands. I don’t know why people feel the need to defend a corporations product.

Eyes are a personal preference but make no sense on a line shooting for toon accuracy.

 

I’ve always said that, while I love my fellow Transformers fans, Hasbro could release the greatest looking Transformers figure on earth and fans would still find an issue with it and what that they’re “not buying it because of [insert nit picky issue here].”

 

Optimus is a red and blue cab over truck, his hands don't matter for the either disappear or retreat into his torso.

Who said it's going for cartoon accuracy? Optimus with a red torso and blue legs is an evergreen design.

Because it feels half assed. Like why even deviate for the worse? Had the hands been blue no one would complain and yet there is this . Also i do have the 35th Prime and i am returning it as the cel shading is too much.

Im a younger fan but I really couldn’t give a crap about the hands. It really not the end of the world, and it’s not just a gwunner vs new thing. It’s just that not everything on a figure has to be perfect and if grey hands means more budget goes to the mold to make the figure look better than so be it because this mold looks amazing!

Gray hands aren’t horrible. The figure looks amazing. If the gray hands are an issue there’s a new invention called blue paint

 

Seems like if they're going to advertise Optimus with blue hands, they should just release him as such. Regardless of how you feel about the hand color, taking pre-orders for a toy and then changing something last minute is not cool.

I've been around the block enough with Hasbro to just assume that they changed it last minute to keep him from being most people's "perfect" modern CHUG Optimus Prime toy.

Those of you who like the grey hands/don't care, that's great. Enjoy your toy. But you really don't have any place criticizing others who are unhappy with this bait-and-switch pulled by Hasbro.

What bait and switch? You can still cancel preorders at this time at no penalty. The grey hands are visible in box.

Grey hands are half assed when the rest of the figure is damn near identical. This is amazing.

Do you see the kind of people we're dealing with. You're returning a figure because the shading was "too much" despite him being boxed in a plastic blister box where you could see the damn figure before you bought it.

You ever had a takara transformers figure? I do not think you understand the respect, reverance and amount of thought put into coloring some of those figures. They stayed true because they respected the source material and the expectation of the fans. It just feels like they went the extra mile. It would be acceptable had the effort elevated the figure. It did not. It looks worse.
