I don't really see any bashing about Predaking's size, more about it's quality as the KO appears to be a fairly good improvement, but I absolutely agree that the combiners should all have been either the same size, or different scales according to their alt mode. The Dinobots for example could have/should have been bigger for scale purpose with the others, there is a oversized KO that I've been considering, but since I already spent the money on the Hasbro one, I just feel a bit cheated. For Devastator, my biggest pet peeve is that the arms of all the individual robots are really poorly designed and cheap. Agreed.. I ind that a few figures don't fit in the Siege line, and he's the main one so I'm skipping it (the other main one is the Galaxy prime). Like you state, he shouldn't have been a simple repaint, especially since that mold is re-used 3 times with the Datsun brothers.
I kinda get why Hasbro/Takara did something like this (For safety reasons or avoiding breakage), but even then I still hate the use of floppy rubbery plastic on sword/bladed weapon accessories that came with figures such as Generations Drift, TFP FE Optimus Prime and ROTF Bludgeon (And to a much lesser extend, Siege Springer). I think those kind of weapon accessories looks ugly, they rarely look good on their intended figure, and generally they just looks cheap and brings down the entire package of an entire figure.
Likewise, Sideswipe should never be directly repainted into Sunstreaker, nor the other way around. They were brothers that had similar alt modes. They were never twins. That one gets me every time it happens. Thanks goodness they at least broke that pattern with the masterpiece line.
I really wanna know the fucking thought process of the Hasbro execs when they decided to make Ratchet this year's Walgreens exclusive. Three stores within driving distance and none of them seem to ever have any in stock and you can't get him online. If it were an obscure character it would be one think but it's fucking Ratchet. He's literally a main cast member. Really not fucking happy that I'm going to have to pay ebay scalper prices just to get one.
As bad as distribution is normally, it’s even worse at Walgreens. Here in Vegas we are usually one of the last to see waves arrive in store it seems, but I’ve seen Ratchet shelfwarming at Walgreens for a couple of weeks now. Was just there over the weekend and there were five sitting in the shelf.
I act got mine from their website, so it was indeed available for about a week or so. Also, we're moving into the holiday season, so more stores will be loading up. If you have three stores locally, you have a good chance of finding one. Heck, I only have access to one store and find most of their exclusives over time.
you ever have a figure that you constantly step on? For some reason that blue flak repaint randomly falls off my shelf and I always manage to step on him. I have no idea how he hasn't broke yet. Also My potp swoop's torso vanished into thin air after I tried to use him for a display thing...and I kinda wish I didn't split him into two parts, that's my fault. I just hate when things vanish on me.
I'm in the UK so I had to get a friend of a friend to help me out. I can't stand exclusives. Apart from the obvious BS of making the consumer jump through hoops, there's no way it's beneficial to Hasbro in monetary terms to short-sell a major character. It's only done for internet headlines which are much more valuable to them. And every company is at it now. I can understand it if it's part of a much wider deal, like NECA with Gamestop. But either way, it shouldn't be happening with main, individual characters.
Death to all scalpers, death to all scalpers, a good scalper is a dead one. Jokes aside, i'm not one of the people that tend to complain about every price hike of Hasbro toys, in the end they'll all be more expensive in my country, and that's the issue. If you don't get a specific figure during his limited time before all the stock gets purchased by someone, you're f*cked. Not to mention the false "rare" state these people try to give to the figures (ehem TitansReturn), it's just annoying, even more in countries with very few vendors.
Try looking behind the Gundam figures if your Walgreens stocks those. I found two Ratchets behind the ones at my store. And that was just on a whim I looked there. If the Unicorn Gundam hadn’t caught my eye, I’d still be Ratchet-less today. I hate to say it, but it might help to see if Ratchet is hiding behind other merchandise on the shelf. I’ve heard of reports of him being stocked incorrectly or others actually hiding him to grab later. Just a friendly hunting tip.
I've done some digging while there. I'm talking on the floor checking all the way at the back of the lowest shelf.
The Siege line is great but the QC on Prowl and Red Alert is some of the worst I have had to deal with. On my first Prowl the paint was a mess, on my 2nd copy the white peg on the feet snap off. Meanwhile on Red Alert, my first one had mess up paint and my 2nd copy the the foot snap off right out of the box. Whatever paint and white plastic they are using for the Siege line seems to be very poor and break very easy. I have also notice Siege Mirage tap's are made of this this cheep white plastic and have heard reports of it breaking as well. To make matter's worst it seems Ratchet is made of this stuff as well so I hope a figure I spent nearly £40-£50 does not fall apart on me. Can we please call this white plastic syndrome?
I will never forgive Hasblo for the rid2015 toyline. It's the reason why I stopped collecting transformers for a year until the prime wars was announced
Ugh! Don't tell me that! I don't have enough room for the figures I have out. Now I'm gonna have open the last 2 guys I have still hanging on the wall to make sure they're okay....
All three Walgreens I searched for Ratchet had them. I don't know anything about them because I haven't followed anything Gundam in about 20 years but I know them when I see them.
This isn't a rant at all, and shit I'm new here lol, but the whole 'we've already got a good X' business... It kinda ignores Hasbro's business model. And the fact that fans will dip, dip, dip. And how many new/old folks Siege brought on board etc. And I suspect Hasbro knows all that
Takara's Legends line looks amazing on display but gosh does it feel cheep and not good to play around with. My Hot Rod's back spoiler snap off right out of the box and my Scourge's paint was flicking off right out of the box. The QC is really poor and makes me wonder if this is why the Siege line as also suffer with bad QC. Get your act straight Takara!
