Nothing really. People hated those test shots, XTB makes a vague statement with the word "redesign" after, and for some reason people took that to mean, "they're totally redesigning this thing!" But as I predicted, nothing changed, maybe a little reshaping of pieces, just better photos with the proper color scheme.

But heh, people were being all, XTB has to pull of a miracle in the Motormaster wars, and they kinda did. Now this looks like a bot that can kick some tailpipe:


Definitely by far the best looking cab mode of the 3 (although the fake foot wheels hanging from the back are a little silly, but nowhere near a dealbreaker). And as I suspected, compatible with the MP-44 trailer.

From the pics of the base mode and the seams of the trailer, it looks like the trailer will be able to fit one Stunticon inside? I am disappointed we will have to wait until April not only for the base mode, but the twin barrel cannons for the team. I'm just trying to figure out who's whose by the gun inserted into them:

I guess the upper left is Breakdown's, the upper right's is Wildrider, the bottom right is obviously Dragstrip's, meaning the lower left cannon is Dead End's? The slot on the back of the cannon seems to support this.

 

Wow! It does everything you said it would. I honestly still had doubts because it seemed like fiting the entire combiner skeleton and a working base mode into the trailer was going to be too difficult. And there are the secondary weapons you promised for the other cars. Everything is here. Well except I remember you specifically said that Motormaster was going to come with his trailer, not be sold separately.

Yeah, that's what I'm seeing too. That's disappointing and it means the set is going to be more expensive. Forget any hope that he'd cost anywhere near what DX9 MM cost. I'm betting $150 for MM alone and probably close to that for the trailer as well. That's... disappointing.

XTB you crafty devils. I have no idea how you guys picked up from the disastrous looking testshot photos but now exceeded many of our expectations.

I'm still not entirely sure how Gravestone and Road King are roughly the same size in bot mode yet one is just the cab and the other is cab + trailer?

Looks the worst out of all the MMs. Nothing has changed from before. Upper body looks great, lower body is just poor.

 

Because Road King hauls around a Home Depot of metal slats on his back.

 

I was a naysayer when they released the test shots. But I'm digging the gorilla proportions now that he's all painted up; he looks like a thug.

 

That's the best MM facesculpt among all the MMs we have seen. Some praise needs to be given for that. Great job!
But heck, if a better one can be done, then go for it. Pretty good already
