Scraplets at Bloomington Target. Watch out though: I bought one and the clear covers over his eyes flew off when I took him out of the package. Seems like they were broken already but you couldn't tell just from looking at it. Still works/looks just fine though so I'm just gonna glue it back on.

 

I grabbed one this morning, three left. Thanks for the heads up, I keep forgetting they have toys at street level.

I was tempted by that big green tank bot KO looking thing, too.

 

Oddly enough I have been too, it's at least looks somewhat original. Also still no sign of the armored Obi-Won, but I've seen the marvel exclusives come and go pretty quickly.

 

Funny you say that.... I bought that guy a couple weeks back, as well as that line's weird T-Rex. The tank has a GREAT tank mode, but the bot mode is pretty floppy and has a really weird torso. Tank mode's really good tho.

 

I've been keeping relatively quiet because I've been picking through it slowly...but it's getting too tempting for me. Cedar Cliff got about 3-4 collections worth of stuff in the past few months and has been slowly pricing it out and putting it up for sale.

I've been there three or four times and here's what I've seen:

1. Tons of Beast Wars/Beast Machines. Most complete, a few things missing parts. Prices are great.
2. Animated. Mostly deluxes.
3. Unicron Trilogy. This is the second set of bulk figures I saw. A few different versions of Cybertron Prime, Energon Prime, Wing Saber, etc.

Please go buy some stuff so I don't. I've already picked through a few of the things I wanted: Blast Punch Prime, BM Rattrap, Strika, BM Megatron....

 

Apeface is $5 off on amazon and in stock (and I mean, even if he wasn't in stock... $5 off)
Had enough credit card points to get him for free, too sooo... free apeface next week!

Got my apeface! He's really cool. I like his transformation. It's really straightforward but still cool. I wish there was a LITTLE more complexity going from ape to jet, but considering this is the first true ape face I've owned (since I'm not counting the TR headmaster), I really dig him! No loose joints on mine either.

Also the color white they used on him makes me think it should be glow in the dark and I'm really sad it's not.

 

Any of the Unicron Backers here having trouble redeeming there digital comic code? I get something about the page cant be found or so crap?

No, was pretty easily redeemed.

 

Second that Apeface analysis. Mine doesn't have loose joints and pegs solid in all three modes. (Also, I think he's the first figure bigger than a Deluxe to use the CW Aerialbot style transformation for his robot legs).

Only part that gives me trouble is Apeface's ape face. I assume his jet nose is supposed to lay flush in ape mode but I can get that to hold *and* get his muzzle to tab in solid.

I'm guessing it's related to the peg on the underside of the neck piece that holds it. Looks like that should tab in to the slot on the panel that connects the jet nose to the body...but alas.

Now, let's get Snapdragon and the inevitable Primal/Megatron Selects repaints!

Watch Peaugh's review. You kinda have to line it all up and have it slide into place while folding it, you can't just push it together after the fact. Once you get it tho, you'll go "oooh, that's smart" because even though it's the very odd transformation based on TIMING, it works really well. The nose doesn't sit COMPLETELY flush at the end tho.


My only real gripe with the guy is his back in bot mode. His monkey face hanging out on his butt bothers me so I just fold it in to the jet nosecone, but then you have the little monkey throat flap just kinda hanging there... Can't really win, but it's not so bad because I never display figures from the back. XD

 

That's actually the guy I normally use when I need to double check my transformation. So that tip helped. Even without the being locked in, he was still impressively solid. I also agree with Peaugh that it's baffling why they used that blue plastic for the shield instead of molding it out of the same stuff as the wings.
