The neck on my Studio Series Megatron figure broke clean off, ball joint was all chewed up, how can I fix it? (without having to buy a new figure) Here's a pic of the pieces
If I was trying to fix it, I might try jb weld plastic weld. If that didn't work, I would probably try to drill a thin hole connecting the peg and ball and use a thin rod coated with some crazy glue, gorilla glue or jb weld to connect the two. Though that looks small so not sure how the second suggestion would work.
Mine broke too i superglued it but the head can only look forward now...I'm going to get another one eventually
The broken piece doesn't look like a clean snap, so I doubt they'd send out a new figure. If it was purchased recently, the best bet would be to take it back to the store for a refund/exchange.
I know a few ways but are not really feasible for most to try. 1) If you're very steady with a driller and using 1.5mm drill bits (? 2mm but not sure based on your picture), there is a way to repair that, but you could also easily just destroy the pieces (or drill into your hand). You basically drill a tiny hole tunnel into both sides of the break, insert a finishing nail cut down to size which then acts as a new skeleton, use a little bit of 5 min epoxy to hold the nail and plastic pieces together, and then wait at least a day (if not a week) before using the piece. I haven't had one of these break yet but is rather risky. 2) If you happen to know someone who does silicone molding and resin casting, they could make you a new piece. Superglue the pieces together, make a mold, and then make a resin copy, preferably with stronger plastic. I've done this before to repair bots that would otherwise be marked as junk after catastrophic damage.
Was going to make a very, *ahem* topical joke after reading the thread title, but decided against it as it might be seen as against forum rules. Anyway, glad you fixed the figure. Sucks when these kinds of things happen.
