If you do go ahead with it it might need a bit of nail polish on the balljoint as one head is a snug swap and the other is a tad looser - but I've forgotten which was which! (And, of course, tolerances vary.) Still a simple job overall though.

 

@daimchoc has asked me about it. I don't have a black light torch and could only make out (barely) the word "Spinister".

Nope. Had a massive headache that night and didn't feel like trying to figure it out on my own while reading those god-awful physical instructions.

What's hilarious that the reviewer used a stock photo with the same mistranformation as "proof" that Hasbro knew it didn't fit correctly. You know, the kind of stock photo that so consistently features significant mistranformations, that hasbro finally said "fuck it" and started using CGI renders for their official promotion.

Needless to say, I am never watching that particular reviewer again.

 

Yep. Made a custom pair out of black resin and then painted one silver and one gold. Fixing the warps was the most annoying part.

wow, thats pretty sad on that reviewers part haha, having transformed it, i can say it does indeed fit like its supposed to. personally i kind of dislike most reviewers because they either act like the one you described or they inappropriately compare mainline hasbro releases to 3p releases when a figure review should review the figure on its own merits

 

Apeface's ape mode is terrible. Pretty sure he will only be a jet or robot for me.

 

How so? Are you talking about looks and articulation?

It's solid if you get everything locked in place. I find all three modes oddly satisfying and neat.

 

Huh, I didn't realise Spinister's hands were grey. Seems like a bit of an odd choice, and I kinda wish they were the same colour as the rest of his arms to be honest. Maybe they're molded with the rotors or something? I don't see any other grey on him

Apeface is a character I have no attachment to what-so-ever, but the more I see him, the more I look him. As you said in a previous post, he's makes for a good Decepticon goon, and he's a little on the weird side too, being a product of the late 80s. Plus, I really like his colours. Might have to look into get him now

 

The great thing about the new Omega Supreme is they really cut down on the parts forming. You have 3 (will if you count the 2 halves of track that fold out)5 parts. The rocket, tank, base and the 2 pieces of track. I transformed him a few times over the weekend. Very well built.

 

Has anyone tried to remove the paint on cartoon megatron?

 

Was it the same reviewer who followed up the Apeface review with a Spinister review where he (or she--lets be inclusive in our derision  ) was so lazy that they couldn't be bothered to look up the character on the wiki page for information and didn't even recognize that the alt-mode was based on the Apache gunship? I left a comment on the review saying as much and pretty sure that I got blocked for it.

 

Same here, I got mine yesterday, took a few pics, hadn'te even attempted to transform him yet.
