So, a thing that was discussed about Hoist is that above the waist, he’s very much the chonky Floro Dery Hoist design, wing flap things included, but the legs are longer and more slender already like Trailbreaker’s character model. So I could see them either retooling the entire torso and arms to make Trailbreaker more accurate, or just change the heads for a happy medium. And I’m in love with Cliffjumper. He looks like what a Hasui-era MP Cliff would have looked like and we better get a Hubcap outta this.
Tcg talk: you wanna see how bad power creep gt in Yu-Gi-Oh? The entire Trap Card mechanic got crept out for being too slow in the current tournament metagame. Entire formats have been decided by who wins the coin flip that determines first turn .
I will be eternally disappointed if an actual Earthrise is not the final scene of that era in the comic.
Thanks for reading and answering my question. What I'll add is that I'd love to see figures for characters that Hasbro hasn't covered in a while or even designs that are more obscure like IDW stuff. I love my MMC Drift, but he isn't going to look right next to Siege Ratchet. That said, Reformatted is absolutely the exception to this rule, which is why I own 5 of their releases to date. Even then they're still slightly bigger than other CHUG stuff. Kinda like the difference between a MacFarlane 7 inch Fortnite figure and a JP 6 inch of the same character. Just bigger enough that everything looks wrong. With siege skewing smaller than Voyagers had been, previously, the problem has been exacerbated. Anyway, I kinda figured the answer to my question was exactly what you said but it doesn't stop me from wanting some those Iron Factory figures in a deluxe/Voyager scale.
I know that’s what everyone’s theorizing, and it would definitely work, but I’m still really holding out hope for Hubcap in some capacity.
So... Here is the source of my mild excitement for Earthrise Starscream. I'm at the point in my collection where I only want obscure repaints of figures (especially seekers), and Redwing gives me hope that we get something else weird. Maybe after Starscream, Thundercracker, Skywarp, and the Coneheads we get a 7th Seeker that is Nacelle? That would reuse existing parts instead needing any remolding and be a cool repaint. Fingers crossed!
@Vangelus Months later and SS38 (Bee Prime) still hasn’t shown up in the Vancouver area either. Been hunting for months. TFFan101 said he never saw it anywhere on the shelf in Victoria either. What a bummer. Unfortunately the Cybertron.ca sightings thread isn’t always the best help, as a lot of users there will ignore anything not G1 related, and/or you get a ‘some movie crap I didn’t care about’ type message in the post.
Transformers misconception: during my wilderness years I clearly remembered Wheeljack being involved in Optimus Prime's resurrection on the cartoon. I was really surprised when I watched the movie for the first time since the 80s and saw his corpse lying on the ground next to Windcharger's.
Yeah, I ended up getting a used one off Mandarake the other week for cheaper :/ So strange how that specific voyager phantom'd past most of the country To date I've never seen SS38 or Siege Ironhide on a regular retail shelf. Ironhide's triple weird because I've seen every single wavemate many times I guess there are arnhaahrd superfans in town
Transformers misconception: I thought Ravage was a wolf and not a panther. Keep in mind this is when I was very little and I wasn't born until '87. I've basically spent most of my life backtracking G1 and filling in the holes as I go along.
