Now if I am Hasbro I would make a Modulator or two for fans to build Autobot city to connect to a new Metroplex.

Aside from that one guy out there whose only toy growing up was a Triggercon, they're not anyone's favorites. Not everything can be a new mold, especially not what essentially amounts to a set of background mooks.

The post is not to quantify the whole line, but only those things specifically mentioned by catz. The "not Hot Rod" only applies to the two deluxes he mentioned.

Yes! I want Metroplex again. One of my favorites as a kid and make him stockier. I missed the T30 one, but wasn't blown away either. I think with the current WFC formula we would see some great deluxes and others to add to him making him a true "city" Would dig lots of skyscraper add ons.

If this stops at a Trilogy, and I think there's ample opportunity to go further, Metroplex surrounded by Powermasters and Rodimus would be one helluva a finish.

John Warden likes to drop hints. We know this.

In that little interview, he lists three G1 episodes, in a particular order. The first two of those episodes, in the specified order, have now been reflected in the first two lines of the War for Cybertron trilogy.

There are two ways to look at that:
    1. It's an enormous coincidence, or
    2. John gave an enormous hint about the future of the franchise and it's now playing out in front of our eyes
To me, the pattern is patently clear, and is telling us where the third part of the WFC trilogy will go. The tea leaves don't need to be read. They're speaking loud and clear all on their own.

    Just a suggestion. Nothing more.

And Big Motorvator decides who's in the club, not you. >:3

    ^ this.

Plus, even on the slim chance that this isn't the case, it's undoubtedly the case that WFC is playing events of a "generic" G1 continuity straight. Siege happens before the TFs leave Earth. Earthrise happens "in space", before they reach Earth, covering presumably up until they crash land. What happens after they crash land on Earth but before they wake up? BEAST WARS.

If the Beast Wars figures don't get their own line(which I'm not really expecting, but I'm hoping for), this would be the next best thing for BW.

I've already stopped this turmoil, why are we still arguing about the not-Brainmasters?

Being honest here, though I wanted Landcross a massive update for Generations, I'm not basically spamming the forum with a redundant comment of saying 'I demand this!' or 'I really wish for that!' But why in the world you would be a butt cramp of saying you want Gripper, Flame, and Lightspeed (Although I want to call him Lightsteed here over the Technobot one.) too much?

Look, I am not here again, to demand something like Landcross 100%, or make a proper Liokaiser torso units 100%, even say any more obscurity, I don't focus on just one.

    Any last words?

Welp, I must say the Dinobots too have already been done although they can combine to form Volcanicus, which an intentional gimmick. Their individual dinosaur modes are almost perfect, while robot modes are quite good enough. It's just they had to put that combiner aesthetic into play. And it would take a set of upgrade kits to give them more weapons especially Grimlock which lacks even his sword.

Imagine if the Call of the Primitives talk was hint at a Primacron/Tornedron figure just in time for Unicron.

If they are willing to make 3 Voyagers a Target exclusive I feel the sky is the limit with some in-scale Dinobots.

I’m still holding out hope they are the next Titan gift-set after Scorponok.

5 large voyagers, modern day leader scale, is very doable in a Titan set. That is basically what Predaking was.

I think it would make more sense for Metroplex to have a new sculpt. He needs AIRLOCK compatible ramps and a bigger head and waist.

But if Hasbro wants to homage Autobot City/the Ark, they should take all the Earthrise modulators and redeco them orange and throw in an orange redeco of Omega Supreme’s tracks and then we could army build that set on top of and around Metroplex.

Speaking of Modulators, is it going to be 3 original molds again like the Weaponizers?

Based on what we’ve seen so far, at least 3 seems likely. We got 3 in Siege because there were 3 recent city bots who needed partners.

My guess would be 4 in Earthrise so you get the first 4 Micromaster bases. Iron Works, Hothouse, Greasepit, and Airwave seem plausible to me. All 4 feature ramps prominently.

    YouTube (Legacy):
I'm trying to play devil's advocate and find some argument against this, and I'm really struggling. John Warden's only been design lead since Combiner Wars. T:30 Metroplex was before his 'reign', and heavily based off the version from the WfC game. I can see him wanting to take a swing at it and make it fall more in line with the more G1-centric Titans we've had since. Also, there really isn't that many other candidates that don't seem like a barrel scraping exercise (sorry Grandus fans!). Literally the only rational argument against Metroplex is 'he's been done', and seeing as that'll be seven years prior to the WfCIII titan that's not a very compelling; There's a whole new generation of fans, both young and old, that won't have been able to get T:30 'plex.

I'm not sure I like the idea, truth be told, but if I'm thinking about it from Hasbro's POV then it feels pretty plausible. Och well, I dinnae have to buy it. Unless it's fucking amazing. Then I'll have two CHUG Metroplex's. Crap.

My turn to call it. WfCIII's modulators will all be orange and attach to this hypothetical new 'plex.

My evidence? Why of course m'lud.

Yeah, alright. I admit; those are some pretty fucking tall modulators.

Enh, sure Warden does like to drop hints...but usually at the panel when Hasbro are ready to whet an appetite. John also likes to just talk through his process. 'What's the difference?' Well, I think hints are more deliberately constructed, as they're rarely given as off the cuff remarks. The example in the video you linked definitely feels like 'off the cuff' stuff, and probably speaks more to what characters he was trying to get a good feel for, rather than a hidden map to the structure of the entire trilogy. So looking at that reference to 'Call of the Primatives' we can conclude that...

Or 3. he was looking at a cool episode that had a load of Sky Lynx in it. I favour Occam's Razor here.
But possibly in a different language than you are.

I do really think it's a leap of logic to conclude that watching 'Call of the Primatives' means we're going to finally get those much coveted Beast Wars updates that so many have been clamouring for. What I think is much more likely is that we're going to see something more along the lines of the Unicron Trilogy nods we've had in Siege, such as Cybertron Hotshot and 'Galaxy Upgrade' Optimus, and we'll see Apeface and Snapdragon redone as BW Megatron and Optimus Primal, and maybe some more if there's opportunity. But it's going to be that sort of bonus extra, not the mainline.

Everything we've seen from WfC mainline releases has been very G1-centric. The storyline has been very narrow in scope, with seemingly a whole chapter dedicated to simply the trip from Cybertron to Earth. The idea we'd suddenly jump ahead to the Beast Wars and a different cast, or even simply incorporate some of that cast into the Ark and Nemesis crews, doesn't pass the smell test for me.

I've said it a few times in both this and the Earthrise speculation thread, but at least from the point of the Earthrise reveals...if not even the Astrotrain reveal, I've felt like the remit for the WfC trilogy has been a lot narrower than I'd hoped and that the focus is going to be '84-'87, with the odd bit of spice thrown in. The Earthrise Optimus and Starscream reveals speak to how little ground is likely to be covered. I think by the time WfC concludes it's not just going to be the BW fans who are disappointed but everyone that was hoping for updates of JG1 and the 'missing'/badly done characters from '88 onwards. All of which to say I feel your optimistic hopes and share your frustration, but I think you're wrong.

I suspect the true answer that @Iruini would give is 'because lolz',but if I engage with the question sincerely...

As someone that has a much greater connection to the Euro G1.5 stuff than I do the JG1 stuff, I'd much rather have the Motorvaters. And I'm not sure I'm alone in that. Logistically, we'd be fine either way, as whichever team doesn't get a mainline release gets a release via selects (potentially Takara Tomy selects if the Motorvators get mainline). To be perfectly honest, I think there's a very remote chance of getting them, so I'm not terribly inclined to campaign for my own personal preference...sorry, I mean, #BIGMOTORVATORORWERIOT

What @RodimusRex says is so logical and reasonable that I can't imagine it not happening, then I remind myself about the mess they made of the PrimeMasters in PotP and go back to embracing nihilism and a total lack of faith in the future.

@barry You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

To me, the unfolding pattern is as clear as day. If others can't or refuse to see it, I'll simply shrug and carry on with my day. I tried.
