I really have no problems with the whole melding of sizes they've been doing. Sure, you're paying more for smaller boys, they're all in scale and they're able to pack more characters per wave. Remember when they did a Leader Class Thundercracker or whatever? Did anybody actually like that? Is it not better to get a Shockwave in that price point that isn't inflated, and comes with a bunch of other stuff you wouldn't get if he was just a Voyager? But then, I'm happy with just about everything they're doing. Astrotrain, Movie Shockwave et al all seem worth that money to me. How readily have we all paid like 30 quid for a third party Legends figure before, myself included? Uh huh.

    It's actually more like:

@MyTea Boc Especially for you, Brian...
The light today still isn't the best, and despite some painstaking preparation I still managed to end up getting shots that obscured Catilla's head here are all the current Transformers hiding inside to go all out war!

Those are fantastic. If only we had even just the regular Pretender guys completed.

Roadblock was my favourite Pretender toy I had as a kid. Somehow even outshining the Mayhem Attack Squad trio and Thunderwing. I think because he’s a big blank slate... and was easy to carry about with all his components. Like a little one man army. I still think he’s very underused but same goes for Skyhammer, Vroom and Crossblades.

Have you got plans for Carnivac, Snarler and Cattila?

There's a lot going on there (and I kept accidentally obscuring his noggin) so he's easy to miss but Catilla's done!
    Screen Shot 2019-11-17 at 14.34.03.png

No plans for Carnivac or Snarler, as I've gone and run out of durn Primes, though I have a Shapeways Nexus matrix plate to embody I don't think either of them fit thematically.
Still pondering that conundrum. (Skyhammer's got the Nexus Primemaster being a "combiner" of sorts having multiple forms but having Roadblock as an Evil aspect of Nexus seemed a bit too literal a mirroring so he's Vector Crime and I imagine his multiple shellforms as being a transtemporal/TARDIS-ish affair.)

I'm so torn in those kind of KOs. Galaxy Shuttle was a painful one as I'd just bought a boxed one, but I have the Browning (and a red Kingdam vintage KO), dino-cassettes (including black set) and the Japanese Headmaster reissues, so I can't really criticise when it benefits the majority.

Oh, a few of you were very nice when my mother-in-law was in A+E a few weeks back, she passed in a hospice last night surrounded by family, pretty close to being on her terms (pain free, no panic, a son in law with an over-reliance on parenthesis). It majorly sucks because after 15 years we've finally become close in the last couple of years and bonded over the Marvel movies, just in time to lose her, but better than not having that relationship. 4 weeks from diagnosis to passing. Absolutely insane.

Ring your Mums and Dads and any significant family members tonight if you can and weird them out with emotional verbalisations.

oh yeah I did miss him. Looks good dude. I doubt we will ever get the animal pretenders. They could work as Beast Wars guys like in IDW but I just don’t see it happening. I’m willing to be proven wrong though.

I used to stuff Roadblocks defeated enemies in his tank shell so it having a huge void inside would work for me.

Sincere condolences, Sid, and, as you say, no matter how long and ultimately short it may have been at least you had the bond develop. Sage advice indeed.
I like the Marvel comics-y "power with a downside" angle, like it's his Time Machine - all the shells are the same single vehicle a different points in it's timeline so every time he summons an extra form of it for reinforcement, the risk that an earlier iteration will get damaged and actually either prevent him being at that point in time in the first place or rob him of it as enough damage will possibly timewipe the most contemporary version.

Sorry for your families loss. Just try and focus on those good times. They are what makes life worth it. It might be bitter sweet but sometimes shared loss brings everyone together.

Will do buddy ;)  I'm sure it wouldn't take too much convincing of the wife to make a trip over when mini-Boc is a bit older!

Oh sweet jesus, that's the stuff. Amazing dude. Like looking at an old school promo shot for pretenders.

Sorry to hear about your mum in law Sid. Nearly lost my own back in April. Hope you, your partner and family are doing alright.

Yikes. Glad it didn't break! Hope it heals up quickly dude.

Yeah I was very surprised nothing broke. The tyre went right over my foot. Was a neighbour not looking when they reversed. I’m not mad. They had had really bad news so it’s a one off distraction. They are being super apologetic but I’m just glad it wasn’t worse.

I’m sure it’ll be fine in a week or so.

You are too kind, Brian, I really need to do that galley properly with a good camera, properly adequate lighting, maybe make friends with a wargamer who owns some decent terrain to borrow scatter 'em on, and possibly with some shell popping inner Primemaster appearances to boot for a proper catalogue look.
(But first I have to properly Radicon-document ROADBLOCK w/VECTOR CRIME!)
I'm with @Loosecannon and @barry, though I may have filled the gaps myself it's a damned shame Hasbro haven't done it themselves! I mean why even have a Selects line if you're not gonna do a properly-shelled "Missing Primes/Pretenders" set, eh? Complete Primes with the thrones set only was a pretty low one in my book. I'm the opposite of a "Bettah Kollecta" I think all the Pretender fans deserve a shot at a complete run of nervous tiny Transformers!

Currently I am on the Victory rum because "F*** it, I'm off next week", and last night I was good because we were gonna have extended family over this morning (which we did and their 1-year-old is adorable, bless 'em). It was going to be Seadog but as I was nabbing the missing coke required earlier in Lidl I spotted their own-brand dark spiced rum 'Liberté' and, well, it's no Sea Dog but it's no three bad either!

@CZ Hazard: sorry to hear about your loss, please accept my condolences.

I can hardly believe it but this week it will have been ten years since I lost my dad.

On robot related matters, just in the process of chopping out my x-transbots glider for DX9 Richthofen and my igear duneraker for x-transbots arkose.

Be a shame to see both go cos they are fun toys but they are a bit dated by modern standards.
