Same here! Animated lit a spark that simmered for a few years until I rediscovered Transformers.

Enh, I like Transformers Animated as much as anybody, but after hearing what actually would have happened in Season 4 where Megatron straight up just throws all the Decepticons to their death to power Trypticon? I'm actually glad it got as satisfying an ending as it did.

Now, what I really want is a new successor series that has Animated's kind of creativity with the premise. THAT is what this franchise needs rather than just reviving a series that honestly ran its course best it could despite being faced with obstacles through its entire existence.

As great as that would be, so long as there are going to be people who unironically beg for a rebooted, remastered, or sequel G1 series, there will always be people asking Hasbro to take the time to finish a show that was cancelled due to their own shortsightedness.

Spirit of Animated will live on in every subsequent incarnation of Bulkhead (or every other big green friendly dudes), Lockdown, cranky Ratchet, Lugnut, Slipstream and every other little details!

Since that this topic is talking about Transformers Animated there’s one thing that confuses me. It’s Wheelie. In the Allspark Alamac part 2 Wheelie was refer to as a kid and an orphan. Okay either that means that some bots are protoformed as kids (Sari protoform did look like a baby) or either that in the comic continuity they do sexually reproduce. I’m going with the former. Wheelie was never shown in the tv series, but was in the comic books.

That’s the same as his G1 origin. There he was described as a child and orphan as well. I wouldn’t pay too much attention to it, since it’s also completely possible for a Cybertronian to be childlike in personality.

I do believe that some mini bots were design and program to look and act like children. No sex involve. I guess the Allspark wants a few kids here and there.

I adored Animated. It’s the most recent TF show I’ve been able to watch as it aired. Megatron is GREAT, which was really refreshing to me as I’d last watched Beast Machines and was still so disappointed in everything about it. Starscream, always my favorite, is fantastic in this one, Swindle is fun, Blitzwing is fun, just everybody is fun! Wreck-Gar! Garbage for everyone!!

Though I never did see the last season, that just means one day I’ll get to track it down and check it out - and apparently, then lament how it ends, or doesn’t end!

Season 3 is one heck of a ride... I guess when you left off, it was just revealed that:

    Sari isn't 100% human

It gets crazier from there, and the show has a very satisfying "ending," even if it wasn't meant to be the final curtain call on our favorite show.

Yep, that was pretty much the last thing I saw! Glad to hear a positive impression on the last season. Now I’m looking forward to finishing it.

Thanks for that Tubi rec. Just started catching up. I forgot how much I enjoyed watching this style. I do remember it took a little getting used to, but dang the character design is all just so much fun.

Derpy? I'll take it over Bayformers' over-exposed bits everyday.

I think the name gives it away.

But in all seriousness @Wheeljack84, anyone can dismiss a show based on its art style; I do that with Adventure Time, Steven Universe, and Rick and Morty, and there are people who swear up and down that they're terrific shows. Animated has a lot more going for it than a "derpy art style," including a level of character development that hasn't been seen in a Transformers TV show since.

Fine. You have your opinion and we have ours. Thanks for sharing. Now if you'll excuse us, we're going to get back to discussing why we enjoyed the Animated cartoon.
