The launcher itself is problematic: Wheeljack's single cartoon launcher tends to have a long barrel: Wheeljack (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity - Transformers Wiki The Earthrise one looks much more like the toy's launcher: Wheeljack (G1)/toys - Transformers Wiki But the toy has two launchers!!! Now I *COULD* buy two Wheeljacks and nick the 2nd one's launcher - you can see a slot on each shoulder in the NYCC pictures at https://news.tfw2005.com/2019/10/03/new-york-comic-con-2019-coverage-hasbro-transformers-new-toys-display-siege-earthrise-cyberverse-397565 - but the Earthrise launcher is asymmetric with a peg out of one side in robot mode so it can be attached to the vehicle. And two pegs pointing the same way WILL wind me up. But will it wind me up more or less than only one launcher?
Definitely getting Wheeljack and Cliffjumper. Just wish I had a decent bumblebee. I've got about four none of which I particularily like that much or scale that well with deluxe figures
Holy Micro Weapons, Nemesis! Hasbro has been hiding those weapon gimmicks so Takara can show it off?! I'm getting my hands on them aside from some of the Siege ones including the combiner pair. Point made. He was going to be Legends height. That is one handsome Wheeljack. No doubt, he'll be in my bucket list for 2020.
Okay then, live in the toilet then. I think they will continue, and as light a touch as they did with Hoist is pretty nice.
Totally agree with you, but "Okay then, live in the toilet then." has got to be the weirdest comeback I've ever heard!... (It might mean a bit more if you knew my family, cause I've heard some WEIRD ones...) Anyway... I'm a bit OCD about my figures, but now thanks to Siege I've actually learned that not being "even" is also ok... (Just so long as it's only the paint and not the actual plastic) So I didn't even notice the little bit on Hoist...
I almost wonder if smaller weapons with the deluxe toys are made on purpose, to serve as a marketing incentive to get Battlemasters and Micromasters as add-ons.
I think that’s pretty accurate, case in point Greenlight with Dazzlestrike (sure it included the combiner hand/foot/gun thing but no other weapons.
I took the little red gun/missiles from my Six Gun, painted them silver with a little red gloss on top, and gave them to him. Cannonically, he had two pistols when he died in Movie '86, and they look good for him while also sitting above his sirens in vehicle mode while looking a bit like lights as well as guns. It means his other gear basically gets stored in his chest or back most of the time, though...
Thank you for the information. I had not heard that before. I don't dig through the forums that thoroughly, so I appreciate the information.
We have never had such a G1 inspired Hoist before. Every other Hoist has deviated from the 1985 design.
The hands have bad kibble, the back wings are in the wrong spot and badly colored, only one weapon and it looks more like a dental tool than a missle launcher. And that's my thoughts before I see it in person. Yup, I'm done. Sticking with my generations. And least he has large wings and ratchets.
It’s a really nice looking Wheeljack. I’m so very tempted by it but I’m quite happy with the RTS WJ and can’t think of anywhere else in my collection where he’d fit... I could have him as a desk-bot at work though.... hmmmm. Dam it HasTak stop making me want stuff I didn’t know I needed.!. er wanted.
The renders always have issues with reflections. What do you see that's different? Is it possible the missile extends?
I think it's possible the missile extends: Otherwise why the hole and groove? He really does look like he's got a helmet on: I do hope we can get an IDW head varient.
