I have Despotron, Mightron and MP-36. If you have any questions about comparisons or need any photos let me know. Even if you don't buy I'm happy to help you with the decision process :)

That's very kind of you. I pretty much just put my toys on display right out of the box. If they're packaged in 'bot mode, I don't even transform them. So for me, it's about having a stable, solid bot mode with solid joints. In that regard, would you say MP-36 is the best? I have no worries about it toppling over, and the main joints are solid spring-loaded ratchets, so everything feels good. The only issue I have is that it veers a bit too much toward the cartoon, and I'd like to see a bit more G1 toy influence.

    Thanks!

He's my MP Megatron because I, too, prefer its look over MP-36. (Plus he has that wicked grin face). He looks impressive and is fun and intuitive to transform.

I'm mostly a display collector sadly, and as a display piece the right knee/lower leg sagging a bit isn't an issue in anyway: when I pick him up I just extend if fully again (all the 1-2 mm it has collapsed) if need be, although it hasn't sagged since I last posed him about a month or so ago. But I can imagine it will be a bit more of a bother when used regurlarly.

However, it's apparently very easy to fix: there's a pin that's not inserted as far as it should have been. Hammering that pin in a tiny bit further should do the trick. There are tips on how to do this best in this very thread.

I also still prefer Despotron for my main MP style Megatron.

Despotron looks like a Megatron that can have MP-36 for breakfast. And I have both.

As far as proportions go, Despotron is a perfect bookend pair to MP10.

Despotron is best with MP-10, while MP-36 is best with MP-44

I think Despotron looks good next to TE Prime.

Real shame MT never sold the additional parts for his Alt/gun mode. I would've been in on it.

I agree. I would have loved an add on kit that would have included the additional gun mode parts, a G1 toon style helmet/head, additional faces and an additional smaller fusion cannon.

I would have also loved a MT Meteor add on kit with a new G1 Starscream toon head, additional faces, new hands, coronation kit and gun mode Megatron.

Honestly, while I kind of agree I'm also okay without it. It's not a great alt mode, bot mode is where it's at with Despotron. I do want to pick one of the KO MP Megatrons though just to keep in gun mode since that version looks better for gun mode and has all the accessories.

I got him in the mail today and I love him. He's huge and very much the bad guy you need to be worried about.

So I'd like to start looking into the different hands and head option. Anyone know a reliable source for the mp36 head and the eness hands?

It may take a bit but imma make him look purty :D

I used the KFC black MP10 hands on mine. They look great, but I don't know if they'll affect the transformation. I've actually never transformered him.

They do unfortunately, as I did the same mod and they're just too big.

Lame, but I kinda figured they would be an issue.

From some of the pictures I've seen in the thread the KFC hands looked big. Just on looks alone the Eness hands look like a better fit.

Well I got the new head and fusion cannon today. I need to put some work in and see what I can do to get him modded up a little.
