I kind of hope its not just straight up the model kits, just assembled and instead uses the designs of the model kits refined and adjusted a bit to work in this different format. If you are making them as action figures they should absolutely design sturdier hip joints (and really any joint that uses the softer polycap plastic). That stuff isn't designed to hold up under the same amount of posing and handling as an action figure is expected to. Also model plastic tends to be thinner and lighter which makes them inherently more fragile than a figure, so I'd hope they adjust that for these as well.

I feel like the real transforming weapon friends are the transforming weapon friends we've met along the way.

    Also Siege Battlemasters.

My initial thought was that buying a pre-built model kit is stupid and a total waste of money.

But then I liken it to buying a restored classic car (or a more appropriate comparison would be a kit car). Do I have the time/skill/willingness to do it myself? No, but if I really want one and have to means to pay for it...

So thinking along those lines, I get it now.

Depending on the price, I may have to check these out. Sturdier versions of these kits would be pretty cool

I think what I like about the kits is I can decide what details I want. Do I want to just use the provided stickers? Or would I like to paint/modify my own details? Do I want to keep it clean and bright? Or add weathering or battle damage? Etc etc. I guess i these look particularly good, and above my skill level, I might be interested but overall I think I'd prefer the the DIY nature of the kits.

Furai Model and Amazing Yamaguchi now on suicide watch.

Furai Action is the way to go. At least the missing colours will be prepainted.

It would be great if they downsize their Tarn and Star Saber as well but unlikely though.

Ultimately, this may end up cannibilising their model kit line, but I will prefer Furai Action over any other non-transformable action figure line.

Action Master characters would be perfect for this line, but A/B list characters sell better. :(

Their recent version of Megatron is amazing.
If they make a Galvatron, I will go for it.

Why would Yamaguchi be on suicide watch lol, they'd both be action figure lines of similar quality, Yamaguchi slightly better articulation though.

Idk, the same kind of stance literally thousands of Japanese robots do? its been popular since the 80s
But I guess no Flame Toys thread is complete without a "lol crotch thrusting, am I right fellas?" comment

It's almost like Action Masters looked bad and had bad articulation. You know articulation improved since 30 years ago right?

Most of them aren't IDW designs, only two of them are.

Official third party toys aren't allowed to transform, official third party toys aren't allowed to transform, official third party toys aren't allowed to transform.

Yeah, man, I know it's the "heroic" super robot pose that always looks stupid as hell, but this here example is particularly silly. It is worthy of mockery.

Hundreds of legendary robot artists aren't wrong and you're right bro, have ur opinion but it's not a dumb pose, if u knew anything about posing/robot animation you'd know why its used so much. and if you think this example looks silly then you haven't watched enough robot shows, I know that's typical of alot of Transformers fans they just like Transformers and they dont know jack about other robots, but there's even sillier examples of this pose in Transformers series itself.

I don't think any amount of super robot shows are gonna make me disassociate that pose with people who get so drunk that they lean their entire upper body backwards to try and keep their balance.

Its a dumb pose but it's not going anywhere, at this point it's almost Flame Toys trademark.
