Don’t think I’m doing anything wrong. But can’t seem to align the grey piece into the purple peg. The entire grey piece seems to be just a little short. The purple side panels also don’t clip on because of this.

 

If we dont know the specific amount that were made then is it worth debating? And why are some ppl mentioning lawsuits for false advertising? Seems absurd to me.

Mine had the same issues pegging in as well. I eventually got it but it seems way harder then I remember with the standard ft-16. My mattix chain was shorter as well and barely fits over sovereigns neck and looks like its choking him

 

I read the one report of the metal matrix chipping the paint on the metal chest and the matrix now stays clenched in his fist.

 

Who knew Sovereign had issues with pegging?  

 

Regarding the limited discussions....

Limited Edition means that Fans Toys makes a certain quantity, and they aren't going to make anymore, ever.

You will know your Fans Toys is a limited edition figure if it came with a numbered card.

At this time their limited figures would include:

FT-04X [Exclusive] Scoria 11/2015? - Limited to 1000 pieces
FT-06X [Exclusive] Sever (Snarl) 5/2016? - Limited to 1000 pieces
FT-07X [Exclusive] Stomp (Sludge) - 9/2016 - Limited to 1000 pieces
FT-05X [Exclusive] Soar (Swoop) 9/2016 - Limited to 1000 pieces
FT-05XT [Exclusive/Toy] Soar (Swoop) 9/2016 - Limited to 500 pieces
FT-08X [Exclusive] Grinder (Grimlock) 8/2017 - Limited to 1000 pieces
FT-10X Phoenix (Skyfire / Jetfire) 2019-03-13 - Limited to 1500 pieces (but we've seen cards with numbers over 1500!)


They made 250 Gray Quakewave figures for a Toy Dojo exclusive back in the day... no numbered cards, but I think it's fair to considered those limited.

Fans Toys said they were making 500 FT-20G Terminus Giganticus... but there's no guarantee they won't make more in the distant future (but I think it's unlikely)

FT-16M and FT-29T are not limited. Fans Toys simply could not manufacture enough figures given their allotted factory time to satisfy demand. They will probably make more in the future.

 

I think it's the articulation that gets me. They're so emotive. The utterly slavish animation aesthetic gets me big time too, Takara just 'get it'. In that respect Galvatron has the potential to top them both, I can see them doing a figure that looks like it jumped out of the '86 Movie, with things like ab crunch, butterfly shoulders and high forward thigh movement that seem to be the staple for any figure they do.

I'm not saying Sovereign is bad. Far from it. If Takara never did it then this M looks gorgeous. I just think Takara have the pedigree and potential to beat it in every department, especially for those like me that adore the slavish toon style mixed with hyper articulation.

Regards the limited edition. Pretty sure @dalianjj has already said it isn't, that's enough to put this shit to bed. Hopefully he can come back in and update us.

 

Wasnt this increased to 2500? Or was there no official word of that? FT-04G, FT-06G, FT-06D limited to 500. Dont remember if they had cards

 

Regarding a TT attempt at Galvatron and whether or not it would be better than FT-16

I'm looking forward to seeing how TT Hound compares to Fans Toys Willis. I think it will be quite telling if TT's hound isn't an improvement. Willis is an older Fans Toys figure and TT has now had many years to craft a better design.

I prefer Hoodlum (my least favorite Fans Toys figure) to the TT Hot Rod.
I have both FT Quakewave and TT Laserwave and I prefer Quakewave.
Soundwave is arguably one of TT's best Masterpiece figures, but that Fans Toys Acoustic Wave looks *really* good.

TT and Fans Toys will be competing as time goes on and I expect we'll see a TT Galvatron at some point... but I think they're going to have a difficult time producing anything better than FT-16. Maybe they can add a plasma bath... /shrug

Nope, 1500 on FT-10X... but I believe that some people reported cards in the 1600 range.

I'm not familiar with the production numbers for the Dibot G2 and Diaclone repaints. I just know that Fans Toys produced more than they could sell at the time.... I seriously doubt they will make them again. I don't think there are that many... but there was also not as much demand. Since they could make more, even with a relatively small initial run they would not be considered "limited."

 

In a heartbeat. Like I said before, Takara just get it aesthetic wise and articulation wise nothing comes close. Nothing.

There's always room for some third party though as I'd shudder to think of how much they'd charge for Omega Supreme, for example, and DX9 Gabriel oozes the Takara aesthetic imo. Anything upto this Prime/Galvatron size is game on tho!
