Just watched episode 2. Again, bit of a slow burn but the plot has thickened a bit even if this episode is a bit fillery. Also
we learn that little Yittle can use the force but gets exhausted right after.

Finally we can understand Jawas! :)  They were adorable as well. The.Mandalorian.S01E02.2019.1080p.WEBRip.X264.AC3-EVO.mkv_[2019.11.15_22.03.22].jpg The.Mandalorian.S01E02.2019.1080p.WEBRip.X264.AC3-EVO.mkv_[2019.11.15_22.03.24].jpg

So the child is at this point pretty much definitely
Yoda reborn, I'd say. I doubt that his species is born with natural Force powers...
Gotta ask, what the heck was that rifle the Mandalorian was using? It straight up vaporized people and used ammo unlike blasters.
Sorry that we had to say goodbye to Nick Nolte. He was just great. I have spoken. :)

Yeah he said here weapons are his religion... so there is some sort of honor system behind it all? Makes me wonder if he is still a novice and hence why he is the one doing bounty hunting for the tribe (a not so honorable work)
Btw, what is beskar? I seen his chestplate has some tech underneath, too... so the armor increases his strenght or durability somewhat? He sure took some horn hits from that wooly rhino that would have killed most people.

Wait, Revan existed before Bioware's Old Republic game??? I thought they made that character up for that game. Also while I never cared for the gameplay mechanics it was more of a Neverwinter Nights style pauseable combat than WoW...

Yeah that was... harsh. They might have stolen your stuff, that does not mean it's allright to murder them. Though that sandcrawler chase was great. I liked that he is still pretty vulnerable, adamantine/beskar armor or not.

He didn't exist before but after the game he was used in tons of the old EU material including Dark Horse Old Republic comic books. Outgrew the game he was made for. Mandalorian Wars were a thing before KOTOR, though, just not precised in detail.

SWTOR is BioEAWare WoW clone mmo with completely warped Old Republic lore. It takes everything published around the KOTOR games and before and defecates on it hard. And I mean really hard. It makes all the ST mistakes look like the best SW writing ever.
Wiping this EA-induced idiocy from the canon alone is the reason why I'm not even mad at Disney for destroying the old EU.

Heh, I'm loving how much Werner seems to really be enjoying his time in Star Wars. I really thought he was just did this gig for the paycheck, but he really seems to be having a good time.

    I really, really doubt that.
The baby is fifty years old, so he has had time to pick some stuff up, baby or not. Also, considering that prior to this show the only two specimens of the species in canon were Jedi Masters, I see no reason to assume the species isn't naturally force sensitive. Especially since the baby adds a third example of that trait for the species.

A very durable metal that could be found on Mandalore’s moon. It’s able to deflect blaster bolts and lightsabers.

The lightsaber deflection part is from the EU, but so far in TCW and Rebels, I have yet to see a lightsaber slice armor, just soft parts like wrists and necks. We do, however see some Mandos take direct blaster shots to the helmet and survive.

You can see lightsabers cutting through armored door and battle droids in the PT, so them not hacking limbs off is more of a budget limitation for animated shows. Age rating too.

You never see blood or the actually head. Its how they are able to keep PG. I do love how they still make noise even after their larynx is severed and fused.

Well yeah, blood is a no brainer, due to the wounds being instantly cauterized by the lightsaber.

Yup. But if you had someone sliced open through their chest or bicep... You'd have to animate it if only by showing scorched edges of the severed armor plates. Same like thrusts leaving smoldering holes in body armor. This wouldn't fly with PG. Can be safely done to robots and environs, though.

Honestly, that's the one realistic reason why a lightsaber would be a very poor weapon. Yes, it gets through almost any armor... But it's effective only if your strike causes serious damage. There's no blood loss nor exhaustion to anyone who's been only lightly wounded with it and it delivers no impact.

If I wanted slicing people open in the SW verse, I'd rather use beskar alloy vibroblade.

I just finished the second episode. Again, there’s really not much to talk about in terms of plot, and I guess you could technically call it a filler episode, but it felt like an episode of the Ganndy Tartakovsky Clone Wars show. I just really love the look and the atmosphere of this show. So much of the storytelling is done visually. Pedro Pascal is doing a really good job conveying what the Mandalorian is thinking through body language 80% of the time. Hats off to him for keeping the helmet too. There are so many actors that would be begging to show their face by now. I enjoyed Nick Nolte’s side character in these first two episodes, and I enjoy his “I have spoken” catchphrase for some reason I can’t explain. The sandcrawler chase was a huge homage to the tank chase from Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. That’s one of my favorite movies, so I definitely enjoyed that. The fight with the rhino monster was classic Star Wars.

That baby Yoda just gets more adorable by the second, and now I want one. Even better yet, they’re actually using puppets for it a lot of the time.

All in all, I really enjoyed the episode. It is a bit weird to get filler in an eight episode season, but the Western setting and tone really makes it work nonetheless.

I just watched it and really enjoyed it. Definitely had a Genndy vibe, but not just his Clone Wars, it also made me think of Samurai Jack.

I also caught the Last Crusade reference immediately, but even more than that, this sandcrawler scene reminded me of the level in Super Star Wars on SNES — I can definitely emphasize with how hard it is to scale the outside of a goddamn sandcrawler.

Anyway, this show is so great. I almost can’t believe this is a real thing.
