I do not know if anyone has talked about this, but with the new policy that will take effect on YouTube in January 2020, videos that feature Transformers toys will be marked as "kids content," this means that starting January 2020, any video on YouTube that has Transformers toys in it, will not appear in recommendations, have comments sections, will not appear in a search result on YouTube's website, and you will not be able to subscribe to that YouTube channel.
Basically the only way to find a video on YouTube that is a review of a Transformers toy is to try to look for a YouTube channel that is reviewing the toy, see if there is a video, and then, only watch the video, but NOT like it, NOT subscribe to that channel due to notifications being removed, and NOT commenting your thoughts on the review.
Some Transformers toy reviewers have considered going to Facebook, Instagram, or Patreon to continue to make video reviews. I have tried these websites myself, and none have worked out.
This leaves me asking the question, "Is there any chance that the Transformers websites, TFW2005, Seibertron, Tformers, etc. can offer a video reviewing web page for adult age Transformers collectors?
The reason that Transformers toy reviewers are leaving YouTube, including myself, is due to the risk of being fined $43,000 by YouTube and the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) for not labeling a video that has Transformers toys in it as being "kids content." So starting in January 2020, the only options for doing a video review of a Transformers toy on YouTube is to either make the video "for kids" and essentially have an audience of "zero" or risk paying a fine of $43,000 per video, if YouTube and the FTC does NOT agree with your decision about your Transformers video review being "yes" or "no" it's for kids.
Basically YouTube screwed up and now users who's videos are about Transformers toys either have to cater to an audience of "zero" or quit YouTube. So this is why I am asking the question of, is it possible for TFW2005, Seibertron, Tformers, etc. to provide a "video reviewing" webpage for adult age Transformers fans and toy collectors to share their thoughts about the "robots in disguise."
For me personally if something can work you it will be "more then meets the eye" for positive reasons.
If it does NOT work out, then it appears that the days of YouTube being the "go to" place for adult age Transformers fans to watch videos may be over.
I salute all those who have created YouTube channels dedicated to reviewing Transformers toys, Peaugh, Emgo316, Optibotimus, Baltmatrix, and all the others. Transform and Roll Out!

You know that, and I know that, but for YouTube and the FTC, they say "TOYS ARE FOR KIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!"  

 

And some of them aren't even really meant for kids, like Jobby.

 

That is why there is such an enormous amount of confusion. The rules of the new policy have no details, so the "safest" option for Transformers toy reviewers is to leave YouTube completely. This also applies to all adults on YouTube who make videos that have toys in them.

 

Would that be applicable for any/all video games and anything marvel/dc/anime related content as well ?

 

Yes, it applies to ALL VIDEOS THAT HAVE TOYS IN THEM.

 

I heard that video games like Fortnite or Minecraft would still be fine for some reason.

 

I was just gonna start a thread about his myself, because I'm at a loss.
This is far reaching and is going to affect animation channels, toy channels, parody channels, and gaming channels.

Really the damage is limited to Google/YouTube because they were the dumbasses caught monetizing data on minors, and their reaction was to flip the blame onto content creators. (How ironic the same week that gun manufacturers can now be held liable for gun violence.) So this might shake out to a mass migration off YouTube. Some are already suggesting Paetron, but that gets pricey when you're talking $1 a month PER CREATOR, also one of the Paetrons I followed has recently eliminated the $1/mo donation because credit card fees make that unviable. So anyone who thinks Paetron will be $12/year (per creator!) is in for a rude awakening. I couldn't support that, I follow dozens if not hundreds of channels on YouTube, and besides, some only upload videos a few times a year. Why pay for an occasional (although really good) account the same as a guy who does a weekly or daily upload?

(Ironically, no word on if it will affect Star Trek content yet. I guess it's because all us Trekkies are OOOOLLDD!)
