The reviews I saw made his skirt flap look ridiculous, his posability iffy & his kibble being more in the way, than on-model.

But here I am, expecting to have adult discussions on a page full of toy collectors.

Everyone wants to be treated like an adult - especially when they're behaving like a child.

Well, it's a bit audacious to make a claim that Blackout is one of the worst toys in the SS line if you have no personal experience with him, especially since his is very arguably one of the SS line's best figures.

Anyway, more bumblebee pics please, Zeta. I'm really struggling with the decision of Zeta vs. TE right now.

I must've missed something. When was 18cm announced? I feel like there is a huge scale problem developing with 3rd party MPM figures, in that none of the companies give a s*#t about how your shelf looks. With official MPM/ 3rd party figures we've got:

    Optimus:
    MPM4 - 25cm
    UT Challenger - 27cm
    TW Freedom Leader - 29.2cm
    TW Knight Orion - ~28cm

    Bumblebee:
    MPM3 - 17cm
    MPM7 - 15-16cm
    Zeta Toys Pioneer - 18cm

    Megatron:
    MPM8 - 30cm
    UT Dragoon - 30+cm?

And that's before we start getting into the oversized/modified KO territory.

I guess on the one hand it's good that people have choices, some people obviously like their 30-40cm range oversized figures and so on, some don't care about scale at all. For me I feel there needs to be more of a consensus to have a consistent scale among the line, whether it matches the movies, or the MPM line or whatever. Personally I like the height of the official MPM figures best. But for example Toyworlds two Optimus figures are different heights when to me ideally they'd be the same, but if anything for accuracy Freedom leader should be shorter, not taller. I've no idea what Zeta are thinking if this Bumblebee figure ends up being taller than MPM3. What is that to scale with then?

yeah, 18cm is waaaaaay too big. maybe it's made to scale with the UT(?) bumblebee movie optimus coming out, which in itself is bigger than most at 28cm

TW actually, which given the zeta designers left them would make that freaking hilarious.

Sorry, I wasn't aware that claiming extreme negative things about products we don't even own was "adult discussion". I thought that was basically the definition of trolling but I guess I was wrong
Yeah completely agree here. I think it all started with weijiang making their evasion mode OP super big. That was basically the first good movieverse 3P and everyone loved it including myself, but I ultimately sold it cause it was way way bigger than anything else I owned. I don't think they realize that people don't care enough about each individual 3P company to be loyal to them and wait years and years for them to MAYBE finish a line of their own products that are MAYBE in scale with each other and are MAYBE all worth purchasing. If they were smart they'd stick to scaling with official figures and do "gap filler" products or vastly better versions of existing characters that still fit in somewhere. LA Hire is a perfect example of this. Hastak will probably never ever do a TLK hot rod in MPM scale, so UT/DX9 did one. He's really good, and he looks great with my MPMs or on his own.
So the zeta guys used to be part of TW?

Yep, and when they left there seemed to be a 1-2 year period of hatred for toyworld because of it. Thankfully that cooled off and now people are caring about the products themselves.

So now they also copy TW with the "Premium paintojob" thing? Nice. That's probably the future of 3P now but it still doesn't change the fact that the TE and specially the TransCraft have better bot modes.

Ironically as much as I've complained about Toyworlds dirty, rusty paint on their Freedom Leader, I think the same effect on this figure looks really good. Mainly because that's how Bumblebee looked in the film. I was prepared to give this one a miss after seeing the TransCraft but the paint on this looks really good and I'd imagine painted bot mode pics will follow soon, that will bring him back into contention.

But it actually makes SENSE on this figure. That's how he looked in the film and it was part of the storyline. Having TLK Prime or BB Prime be rusty and beat up and dirty as hell makes no sense they just felt like doing that to seem premium.

Looks nice. I especially like the clear but cloudy windows. Does a decent job of hiding the bot parts inside without being that obnoxious unrealistic blue color that everybody seems to want to use.

    More Zeta, presumably.

Again, I like him. If the full price is reasonable (~60$), I'm gonna get it and replace with some latter offerings from TE or TC if they turn out to be vastly superior.

This does look really nice all painted up. I'm just not sure whether to hold out for TransCrafts version, but that could be a long way off still.

Transcraft version is much more accurate
