Megatron. If you're talking merely about physical battle, then I believe it clearly shows that OP got the upper hand.

However, OP is soft character , always shows too much mercy which usually a weak point in war situation... thus he wont beat someone like Megatron who'd use any dirty tactic to achieve his goal.

Then again, if Decepticon decided to leave the injured Megatron behind, he'd probably died aswell just like OP.

 

Yeah, but Prime's character isn't in question, only whether he won the fight, which he did.

He died of prostate cancer after winning the fight

I'm sure it's been said by now, but Prime turned the tide for the entire battle but lost the one vs one with Megatron due to Hot Rods' interference. We all know Prime would never lose in a fair fight. And we all know Megatron never fights fair.

 

He died due to his own stupidity.....Hotrod really hand nothing to do with his death

I say megatron because Optimus would’ve spared him which would’ve gave megatron the opportunity to take the gun and shoot prime to death

 

How so? Op wouldn't just outright gun him down but as soon as Megatron pulled that pistol I'm pretty sure Optimus would've opened up on him.

Optimus has been fighting this guy for 9million years (minus 4million sleeping),in his own words, he knows Megatron too well, he knows he can’t be trusted in any way shape or form , he knows Megatron has no honor and no shame and will resort to anything to get the upper hand...

Optimus should have taken the shot when he had the chance, and short of that should have done something to restrain him quickly, not stand there and listen to a plea for “mercy” that Optimus should have known was a trick of some type

On Hotrod,There’s another member here that had done a “frame by frame second by secon Analysis on the scene and the bottom line is Megatron had his hands on that done before hot rod came into the view, And Optimus is an expert marksman......He had plenty of time to take the shop before hot rod got into a position of actual danger

Now maybe being injured himself Optimus didn’t trust his aim after Hotrod got in the middle, but that doesn’t explain his inaction before Hotrod gets involved

Maybe , I always thought prime would’ve spared megatron because when prime shot those decepticon none of them really died like soundwave ,dirge , thrust, etc ( even tho they turned into cyclonus and scourge but that doesn’t really count as a death)ik this might sound dumb but that’s just how I always imagined it as a kid

 

Which shouldn’t happen if Optimus Prime hurry and shot Megatron. People like to put all the blame on Hot Rod when really Optimus shares the blame too.

 

Optimus Prime forced an enemy to retreat by the order of someone NOT MEGATRON and then died of his wounds. We have no reason to believe Megatron would have done the same and he certainly outlived Prime at the very least.

The obvious and clear answer is Megatron.
