Since Cliffjumper has a removable spoiler/weapon thing... does that tease the possibility of a Hubcap? ...probably not, but one can dream.
Okay Hasbro is playing "Change my mind" these days since most of the characters already have one CHUG version or another. So..... "Cliff Jumper": IMO he's too big to stand in the the other CHUG Mini's via Legends class and too small to spend Deluxe class money on him. My plan is to eventually take TR Roadburn and give him a 3rd party Cliffjumper type head (via Shapeways). So does this ER Cliffjumper change my mind..? A) NOPE! I'll still be going to ShapewaysDOTcom around Cyber Monday. "Hoist": I really like the vehicle mode but the bot mode pics are a little iffy. I still have the Trilling 30 version which hasn't withstood the test of time IMO with that particular IDW design. So does the ER version change my mind? A) YES! The G1 look will replace the T30 version. "Wheeljack": I never wanted a SIEGE Wheeljack with that Cybertron vehicle mode so I'm glad he's an Earth based vehicle but I'm not too fond of this new Bot mode so far either. Those wings/Antenna's look like stumps and those hands looks worse than the New OP's grey ones. The only thing that saves the ER version is that the RTS isn't too great looking either (maybe a 6/10). So does the ER Wheeljack change my mind? A) Probably. "Ironworks": Not bad looking, but there's no real love or connection to it either. I'll just put him in the same category as "Cog" and eventually get one on sale. "Patrol Teams and MicroMasters": I don't like the idea of Battle/Patrol figures basically replacing what use to be the Legend's class. Even the "Cassetticons" are 2-2 in quality IMO but still the only ones that should remain if they bring actual Legends class figures back. Those other "Rescue/Airstrike/Race-car/Millatary Patrol" teams should be just be individual bots sold under the BattleMaster Class. While current BattleMaster's which ironically use to just come with Deluxe and even Legends class figures should be cut from the lineup completely. So Earthrise Deluxe, Voyager and Titan class are the only guaranteed Classes that I'll still be buying. Has the current MicroMaster and BattleMasters changed my mind? A)NOPE!!!! After those TitanMasters I've been saving money ever since....
I wouldn't be shocked at seeing Wave 1 of ER start popping up at retail around Mid February. Especially if most of SIEGE's Wave 5 is all gone.
Oh yeah i forgot it takes place in space, i get confused because Warden described the diorama at nycc as taking place in 1984 so i assumed that Oh yeah i forgot earthrise mostly takss place in space. During nycc Warden mentioned the diorama he set up was in 1984 after the autobots woke up and i assumed that was the setting of earthrise before it was revealed to be space so I've been a bit mixed up since then.
The micromasters heavily remind me of some of the siege wave 1 micromasters. The hot rod patrol reminds me of the race car patrol even the combined mode of 2 cars on top of each other. The military patrol reminds me of the battle patrol even kind of the combines gun mode.
I still wonder if people are happy that we got a new Wheeljack or upset he's not a Cybertronian vehicle. I'm happy either way.
That's pretty close! Also, if you look closely I think Cliffjumper's feet are angled down a bit... Either way I can't wait for him!
CW just didn't cut it and while the Generations one was good, the body was too big and the head was too small.
Soundbarrier: Want. The only question I have for myself is if I’m getting one or several of him. If I get several, I could make a really long segmented ramp...Hmm... Ironworks: Any and all updates of Micromaster bases will be mine. I love the idea of a guy that turns into a construction site. I also love the idea of a TF that can interact with everybody. Soundbarrier and Hoist can attach to him. Micromasters can drive over him. Deluxes, Voyagers, and Leaders can use him as armor. The Modulators from this line grab my interest in a way that the Weaponizers never did. Cliffjumper: Finally, an updated version of him that’s not just a red Bumblebee. So happy that this exists. (Please let there be a Hubcap redeco from this mold. That’s all I need.) Wheeljack: It’s not perfect, but it looks a lot better than his CW incarnation. I’ll buy it. Hoist: Pass. I was debating about this guy before, but these pictures don’t make him look good. Bring on Trailbreaker, I say.
