Ok so quick update. Batswipe set is done but lighting is not helpful since it had gotten dark. First thing in the morning, I’ll post the photos. Other than the normal front, back, sides, and posed photos; is there any requests for people in regards to photos?

Cant afford a 3D printer, can’t draw to save my life, and I’m only big on here because of how much I appreciate trent’s work. When I was answering things for him, it was mainly because the comments that were being made were being interpreted as disrespectful. Knowing what he was going through as well as seeing his work being belittled, it wasn’t right. The man works hard and even when in need of money, he still takes care of his clients/customers with fantastic work and very fair pricing.

I think I've found the words for this:
Trent, you've made something new. A lot of the stuff I've seen on Shapeways is based on something like the Titan master faces, certain weapons scaled for certain size classes, add on packs, etc. But this. As far as I can tell, no official Transformer figure has something like this (one of the Mp Primes's might have one though). You could have easily made the communication addons, but adding in faces and even the ability to attach effects parts, that's original. That's what makes this amazing, an add on that honestly looks like it should have been official and isn't based on any accessory for another figure.

I used to do more original designs (and there's lots in my store) but the "complete this" parts are the big draws for most. I'm glad you like the comms, though to be fair, the three on the bottom row are all references.  

 

Those are a fantastic idea! I love the holographic heads, just adds that extra layer of awesome. Will definitely keep those in mind if/when I ever finally find the time to get back to customizing.

 

That's the beauty part. These are less customization items and more outright accessories. The holo-heads are designed to work specifically with the frosted fine detail plastic, they have details on the inside that will be visible faintly through the clear material.

 

So they aren’t really intended to be painted, then?

 

I bet they would look stunning with some translucent paints. Shapeways frosted plastics shine with a good translucent paint like Testors Model Master Clear paints. I've used Clear Red, Clear Blue, and Clear Orange to great effect in the past.

 

From personal experience, non painted translucent Shapeways parts seem to become opaque and sandy over time. But it might’ve been because I didn’t clean them properly when I received them.

 

Are Optimus and Megatron based on their earth wars appearances?

 

Paint is optional for the projections, and orange or purple versatile would make the wrist-comms appropriately faction-tech colored.

They all are. The Earth Wars appearances make for good "low res" holograms. I didn't want them to be too detailed because at that size the details would be indistinct anyhow, and the vague appearance means they can pass for most versions of the character in question.
