Was able to get a couple quick shots to give us an idea, but yeah it works. Best of both worlds, my friend.

I may not have any Titans but I am starting to appreciate base modes.

It's a great picture, the combiner looks very pretty and I know there’s been pictures in here of eight siege figures and one TR figure. But I feel like this is pushing it.

Considering there isn't a single TR figure in this picture, that feeling is justified.

There are no combiner compatible figures from Titans Return though.

No problem. Great pictures are always welcome. But this one isn't really appropriate.

To help get back on topic, here are some pics of my favorite TR figures:

TR was really good for bases and triple-changers. I like to think that TR Trypticon is enhanced by the addition of Siege Brunt(s).

    Overlord is a great figure.

I never had the G1 version. To be honest, never even heard of Overlord, or the other Phase Sixers, until some years ago when I got back into collecting with the Classics line. After finding out about him and what the toy looked like, I thought he was pretty cool. Then I saw the price tag on him on the secondary markets and *sighed* in despair. I hoped that one day, Overlord would get a proper update like so many other G1 figures and Titans Return finally delivered.

Overlord is a very imposing figure. Don’t let his colors, which are great BTW, fool you. This guy will hand your robot ass to you after kickin’ it. He’s got several cool play features built right into him. The main one being his shield above. This thing is a beast and works really well on him. I love the pop of the orange cockpit on there. Looks good against the nice ‘jet’ black color.

It’s cool that they still incorporated his G1 Powermaster, or Godmaster as it was known in Japan, gimmick in a way. The slots behind his chest flaps can hold the Powermaster mock-up pieces from the POTP line. Yay, backwards compatibility! There have also been 3rd party engine molds of Giga and Mega made for those that are interested. I like that his torso weapon batteries are also molded right onto him. It’s a shame that they don’t pop out like the G1 version, but I still appreciate those details. I also appreciate his very cool alt modes.

So simple, yet so sleek and cool. Probably one of the best toy versions of an SR-71 Blackbird ever, outside of something like Hot Wheels, Matchbox, or G.I. Joe. The purple thrusters may not be standard military issue, but they standout nicely for this design and character.

If it were bigger, it could almost be a Night Raven.
    47C1657D-1890-42C3-9089-2EDFC29FBE8C.jpeg
This is an excellent tank mode as well. I really like how the robot gun plugs into it to become the cannon barrel, very nice touch. Another nice touch is the inclusion of a cockpit in this mode for the Titan Master to sit in. Too bad that the turret can’t pivot, but there are lots of nice molded details on it such as the treads, armor plating, venting, and the hatch on the turret.

And I don’t care what colors this thing is. You see this coming at you, you’d get the hell outta the way regardless. Now, Overlord has a base mode just like his G1 self. Personally, I never cared for the official version though. It felt too limiting for the character and didn’t incorporate a lot of his innate play value. So I came up with my own.

It just needs ramps. I like to fan mode bases and I thought this one worked better for Overlord. From the G1 pictures I’ve seen of him, I think it emulates that style fairly well. Plus, I love the fact that it incorporates the missile pods he has hiding behind his stomach. Oh yeah, and then there’s this............
    F30EC417-FC4E-45A8-8696-BABD2971A9AF.jpeg
........um, ok. This is an official thing, but I don’t really recommend it. The connection points for it don’t hold together very well and I think it just looks awkward. Not bad, just odd.

Overall, Overlord is a nice update of a figure I’ve had no history with. I’ve been fascinated with learning more about the continuation of the Transformers story thru the Japanese cartoons. I’ve read a lot about them, but would love to be able to watch the cartoons as well. I really wish they would release dubbed versions of them in the U.S. I’ve watched a few episodes here and there on YouTube, but I’m not sure if they were official dubs nor what part of the timeline they fall into. Nevertheless, Overlord and the other Phase Sixers are a very welcome addition to my collection.

Nice review. You can find the Japanese Transformers shows on DVD on Amazon. I have all three series and they are a fun watch if you don't mind reading subbed series.

Thank you! Yeah I’ve seen the subbed series on Amazon. Personally, I’d just rather have English dubs though. Normally I don’t mind subtitles, I just find them distracting when I’m watching something new. I like to pay attention to the action and characters on the screen.

I didn't realize the POTP parts could be used. I'm going to have to try that.

Yes, and you can keep them in the slots and the chest plates will still close completely. I thought it was a nice solution without having to pay extra for 3rd party stuff when I’ve got plenty of those POTP mock-ups from all the Prime armors.

My Legends Monsterbots and Brawn came earlier today. I’m taking my time with them.

Fiddling with Doublecross, and his joints are crazy tight. I’m almost worried I’ll break something if I’m not careful.

Haywire is also pretty fun to futz with.
