I seriously always wondered what happen to all my Nes,SNES and PSX games and systems. I doubt my family would just give them away or donate them.

I traded away good games long ago that now could fetch a pretty nice price. Pocky and Rocky 2, Ogre Battle (snes), Shining Force 3 (Saturn) off the top of my head. Which is weird, because I don't care that much about the money, just that the games are perceived as more rare and/or more valued in my mind.

I sold my Castlevania games for GBA and DS (I had all of them). I was between jobs and needed cash, plus the games were fairly common at the time. Getting them all back now is likely to cost a few hundred dollars and requires sifting through an absolute shitton of counterfeits.

Also, at some point I straight up LOST a copy of Power Blade II.

    Ouch.
A few years ago we needed money so I sold a handful of older games, including Fire Emblem Path of Radiance. I don't really regret it since it was necessary at the time and I rarely played it anyway, but it's still annoying to see the prices on it now.

Also, I still have all my GB/GBA/DS Castlevania games EXCEPT for Dawn of Sorrow, which seems to be flat-out LOST. I've been looking for it for months and can't find it. What's really annoying is I still have the box and instructions on my game shelf, just not the f*****g game
Not quite as valuable as Power Blade II, though.

This story isn't so much 'stupid' as it was more disappointing... but keiji inafune (of megaman fame) was scheduled to visit a gamestop near my area to help promote Lost Planet. I was really excited to go and have him sign my copy of Megaman 2. On that day, the roads were all covered in lots of snow. It would be really stupid to go out and drive in the snow, will all of the giant hills, and with my tiny car. But I was so determined, and went anyway.

I made it there in one piece, and when keiji signed my game, he gave it the most effortless-looking signature ever! LoL.

It was just a tiny blip... like writing the letter 'c' from someone just learning how to write for the first time.

I didn't do anything to piss him off either. Later that day, I thought maybe he was pissed off at the ugly north american box art of MegaMan. But no, that couldn't be. Since he came up with the idea to put ugly Megaman as a playable character in SFxTekken. Oh well... at least I didn't get into a car accident.

Could’ve been even worse- could’ve been Mortal Kombat: Special Forces. ;)

Same here. Game gets a lot of hate but it’s honestly not that bad, broken or unplayable. I’ve done full playthroughs lots of times.

I remember one time I wanted to earn some money, so I decided to sell my DVDs and video games to CEX, a second hand retailer shop that specialises in electronics. I made quite a bit of money, and since I had a lot of PC games, but not a powerful enough system to run them, I was fine with getting rid of them and I was fine when I sold them 3 - 4 years ago...

...only to buy some of these games again later on, once I realised I missed playing them again.

The one that stings the most is that I sold my copy of Super Smash Bros Brawl, which I sold because I beat the game; once I realised I wanted to play it again, since the 3DS and Wii U versions were missing a few characters and content that that game had, I brought it again, from eBay and the game worked...only for it to later on have difficulty reading due to the disc having scratches. Fortunately, I was able to emulate the game, and Ultimate came out, so it all worked out in the end.

But man, if I went back in time, I would have told my younger self to keep hold of them; you will want to revisit these items again.

He might've been frustrated because of the weather, or who knows what. I gave him a choice of things to sign when I met him, and he chose my copy of Mega Man 1.

Or it could just be how he signs things, if it looks anything like this:

I used a Game Boy Color Mega Memory Card accessory to brick a copy of LEGO Racers for Game Boy Color.
I was trying to see what would happen if I loaded save Data from Pokèmon Crystal Version on LEGO Racers, because going the other way just gave an error of some kind and forced a new game. Whoops!

In the grand scheme of things, this wasn't that stupid, but it was a major derp moment for me.

One of the achievements for God of War HD (the PS3 remaster of the first game) required you to "Climb the Pillar of Hades without taking damage", referring to a segment near the end of the game where you had to climb up a rotating shaft covered in blades. Taking the achievement conditions at face value, every time I fucked up and got hit by the blades, I quit the game and reloaded from the last checkpoint. Eventually, I got fed up with that slow process, though, and decided to properly practice the segment, before I reset it and did it for "real". However, once I completed it for the first time, I got the achievement ding, and had my "fuck, I'm stupid" moment; the achievement is a gimme. You can never climb the pillar and get hit, because getting hit throws you off and drops you back at the start. The game isn't tracking whether you get hit at all. It's just asking you to climb the thing, in a roundabout way.

Just bought a ROG RTX 2080.. Gonna be awesome but also kind of a stupid decision lol

Woo real time ray tracing though, right? :p

And it came with the new Modern Warfare so thats a bonus I guess

    rog.jpg

I have an xbox one already that can play all the same games (though not quite as nice) so easily the stupidest decision so far with gaming.

One time my brother sat on a Xbox One controller, so now we can't control the camera. Another time he broke one of the bumpers.

So around 13 or so years ago I was at a yard sale that an elderly couple was having. They had a NES system that had never been opened and was MINT. Everything complete since it had never been opened. Box in amazing shape. The wife had said they had somehow gotten 2 of them years and years prior during Christmas (sometime in the 80’s) to give to their son. They didn’t end up returning the extra one and so it had sat in their basement untouched until that particular yard sale when they finally cleared it out to sell.

Long story short they sold it to me for $5. That was amazing. Until a few weeks later when I traded it to my friend for a deck of yugioh cards. To this day he has NEVER stopped rubbing it in my face how dumb I was to trade it to him for some yugioh cards(not that the card game isn’t fun but because they weren’t even rare cards)

I like having multiple save slots. One time I accidentally saved over the wrong file in Golden Sun, losing tons of progress.

I found a shiny durant in Pokemon X, unfortunately I only had fire and water types. I used a low level fire attack hoping that it wouldn't kill it, but knocked it out anyway. X(
