Really like the book and how it goes right up to current day. Kinda put a smile on my face flipping through it after a day of work. I'll be displaying it upside down with the decepticon logo on top, next to my Covenant of Primus!

    Got my LE today.

    Really cool book.

I wish the Bumblebee movie print had the actual movie version though, not the earlier more Bay-like concept.

My gripe is the cover. The red-purple gradient and the holograph look way too cheap and cheesy for such a nice book.

that promo image is still the creepiest thing i've seen, with how the image is for showing both faces at once, an optimus with sharp teeth and malicious glare wrong...and yet i wanna see how a full body version of a decepticon version of Optimus would look, like if you used the decepticon styling to make an like optimus shape, a real movie verse of nemesis prime

also there's concept art of TLK cheetor

This will be a pass for me it seems. It's likely we may never see an art book soley based off the films. :tumbleweed:

I’d really like that, TBH. I’m sure there was a ton of awesome concept art and alternate versions of the character designs that I’d love to see or see again but in high res. Maybe they’re waiting til the next movie comes out so they can have all the bumblebee designs too? But I’ve been saying that forever so it’s probably not true. The movie designs are super interesting to me and have nothing to do with the quality of the films. Many many talented people worked their ass off on those movies and I love the aesthetic.

To each his own. The movie "shrapnelbot" aesthetic put me off the movies even before the movies themselves came out to prove how bad they were.

Exactly. Personally I'm tired of the older designs constantly being a thing. It's cool and all but that was the past. TF2 had the most unique designs on the characters. Who would'vee thought I'd love wheels for feet on Sideswipe?

Funny cause I also reacted very badly when the first concept arts and figure prototypes were released back in 2006, but once I saw them in motion in the first trailers I decided I really liked it and wanted to give them a chance. Don’t wanna derail the discussion but I always maintain that it’s Bay’s chaotic directing style that made people confused not the designs. The designs are all very unique, even some characters that barely had screen time.

Anyway, I feel like I’m on the fence about this book now when before it was a must buy for me.

I just received my copy of the LE Transformers visual book and i got this at a better price than orginal cost in the beginning at $79.99. I had this version already on pre-order than had to cancel cause things came up. Then did the pre-order for standard and on release day seen LE edition was $55 so cancelled the standard. Than got this version for $55 and free ship from Amazon but instead it was 3days cause the book is so heavy i guess. I absolutely love this book and so glad and happy i got the LE edition cause to me it was well worth it. I'm glad i got what i really wanted in the end which was this LE edition and it wasn't for the prints or box. To me it's just that i wanted something to always look back on and smile about this book.

It’s already a very heavy book with a ton of pages - what we need is multiple books :)

We already got g1 packaging covered with the legacy book and fall of cybertron video game with their art of book, but I’d go for books of beast wars packaging art, unicron trilogy, collector club, generations, etc books ! :p

Problem is, there simply isn't the market for a lot of those more niche areas of the TF franchise. If some of that material is to be released at all, it has to be bundled with the stuff that sells better (i.e., G1 and movie-related stuff)

So, as someone's whos on the fence on getting this, how much actual "history" is in this? Aside from the foreward there doesn't seem to be much, or any, written word in the book.

Just listened to the Transmissions interview with Jim Sorenson.

His favourite Transformers movie is The Last Knight, so that explains the ugly cover art.
