Really?! I figured FT Galvatron was universally loved. Different strokes fo different folks. What don't you like about him?

I'm not the one you asked, but I'm ambivalent about FT Sovereign as well. He looks beautiful, but for my taste he (1) has too much die cast, making him a bit frustrating to pose and handle, (2) isn't very fun to transform, and (3) has a mediocre alt-mode. I've got him, but have considered getting rid of him.

Nothing is ever 100% across the board, but the general consensus is very positive. I personally think he's too damn heavy so his poseability is limited...and I think his alt mode is mediocre...and he's kind of overly beefy. I suspect when TT does their own version, the fandom will turn on the FT version and say how 'dated' he suddenly looks. Though, while I find the figure super overrated, I will likely stick with it because I got a great price on it, he does the job well enough, and I have no intentions of paying upwards of $225 for the character.

Doesn't Galvatron just have a mediocre atlmode? For that matter doesn't Rodimus either?

If I were Takara/Hasbro I would just buy FT and have them be my MP division. Those guys are killing it.

For TE I would love to see them do a character which hasn't had a MP version yet.

I replied before I read this...pretty much the same thing I said, too. I actually haven't bothered to transform mine, though...because I heard it's a pain in the ass and the alt mode doesn't look work the effort.

I like FT, they make nice looking figures and are typically quality products...but their engineering is nothing to be envious of, IMO. To be fair, TT's transformations are becoming fiddly, too, but at least it's due to ridiculous articulation. When TT sacrificed articulation, their transformations were intuitive and interesting rather than fiddly AF. Again, I like FT, but about the only thing they have going for them over TT is making characters TT hasn't gotten to...and now they're cheaper than TT after they decided to double and triple their prices..

Try more like 300-400 with the Takara's price trend. :lol

If you order from the US shops...possibly. I would think he should be around Megatron price, but who knows?

    It's the arms.. in altmode..

I'm not a fan of that profile. I think someone will figure it out and I'm hoping TE will one day.
I think someone has to be able to engineer a faithful bot, that can accurately also capture the cannon mode.
Given that TE is capable of making a sweet cartoony sleak and stout Prime like this.

I hope that TE will be able to capture in a sleek way, similar to TE01 a Galvatron that looks just as good and accurate in both Bot and alt modes.

Possible, but I think engineering the arms would be a nightmare and they'd only suffer in aesthetic in bot mode. I'm more than happy with FT's offering, but if they can pull it off and you dig it, that's all that matters bruh. :thumb

Yeah, I agree the arms in alt mode are the weakest point, the DX9 one has a bette ralt mode because of that, but the robot looks great

I always wondered if someone ever considered doing something like what DX9 did. But instead of having the treads hang off the back, have them hidden inside the body in bot mode.
And then you could have proportional fake treads on the triceps. Since they shrink to about 1/4 of what they are in the cartoon.
Not impossible but also, maybe something TT may do since Galvatron is pretty much a given eventually, in the MP line.

I rather fear that TT will give up on the MP line. It seems like they aren't that interested anymore. And with those prices I guess neither are we. I was all pro TT but seems like the 3Ps have overtaken them.

Nope, he actually has no alt mode really. He just falls over and puts his gun on his head. But I'm not an S3 guy. Poor decision making it was.

Except the "treads" are indeed on his arms in the cartoon (although they are reduced and vestigial looking) and on the g1 toy. Not sure I'd want them deleted/hidden away.

It's no different than prime having a fake grille in bot mode on the toy. Or Magnus having smaller wheels on his feet. Same deal with sunstreakers chest or Megatron's chest for that matter. All get reduced, or change during transformation. So I don't see why we couldn't have fake treads for Galvatron to make it more animation accurate. And more proportional.

nope. its a half assed alt mode. FT's version is a half assed version of that...so yeah. While FT's is currently the best overall its alt mode isn't what i'd call good. If TT EVER gets to him, it'll definitely have a lot of room to improve the alt mode. even then...when its accurate to the toon...its just gonna be a little meh (like most season 3 alt modes to be honest but particularly lazy). anyway TE has agood thing going wtih this prime and i'm sure they could do other characters like galvatron justice... BUT i'd rather they do something else. i'm the guy always wanting MP versions of the jumpstarters, the battle chargers, whirl, roadbuster, deluxe insecticons and the omnibots. any of those would be nice...and naturally each is a mini "set" so there is no shortage of characters to do after the first....and nobody really doing them yet. or and i'll sounds liek borken record from years ago...they could do an ultra magnus iwth an inner white prime and a super robot that has a waist swivel. heck they could even build off this prime and do it perhaps...odds are they'd need to change some stuff though...and yeah i don't mind partsforming on magnus teh same way i don't mind that omega supreme parts forms. haha

It's not that his head is too small, it's the shoulders that are a bit wide giving that perception.

Yesterday someone in the MP-44 thread said they felt MP-10 was better than MP-44. Man, when I tell ya some of them jumped on him like the Sharkticons jumped on Kranix.
