This is before they decided to go back to the drawing board.

The upper body looks great, but the lower body looks as if it belongs to a baby wearing diapers (this was pointed by a couple of board members) i.e. the thighs are too short and the legs look small compared to the upper body. It's very strange because the 3D renders look really good.

Was it back to the drawing board or just some design tweaks?

For as long as it's taking the drawing board is more likely.

The physical prototype compared next to the render, both have identical proportions and design, granted things might have changed at this point after the supposed redesign. Looking at the legs, nothing has changed comparing the thighs, sculpted details, size, etc. The only difference, and this is what give that "baby wearing a diaper" look, is there isn't a uniform black color from the waist down. The visible diecast in the physical proto, starkly contrasted next to the black/purple pelvis, and also having a third of the mass visibly be a different color by the knee, skews the look. When those legs are completely painted it'll basically match that original render.

I think you might be right. It's not only the black though. It's really the knee joints. From the side, you can see how the thighs would become thinner which makes the entire leg look smaller. I think if they would just thicken that area and make the feet thicker, the figure would look better. But then again still don't think it looks as good as RoadKing.

Nope. It's some tweaks. Most of the redesigned parts are for the combined mode, not gravestone.

kinda doubt it. my prediction based on history and how long real substantive changes actually take is that....its gonna show up and look 95% the same as those early renders...which to me would be a good thing. i still think people can't unsee what the colors of that prototype make them see. it really is visually disorienting and you really have to look at it piece by piece to see...its indeed almost 100% the same design as the render.

I did one a while back, and while it's rough, I still think it looks great.
I one thing I hope iBot changed are the thighs, which were purposefully done to mimic MP-10, who is itself, outdated.
Squaring them off and losing the taper to the knees would do wonders.

I really just want to see OFFICIAL pics (even new renders) SOON!!!

What are these images you get from googling "xtb gravestone pics", are they legit:
    xtb insta pic.jpg
    78net mm pic.jpg
    78net mm side.jpg
    78net mm back.jpg

I don't know what the bottom three are (they're from X-Transbots变形金刚系列 MX系列 MX-XII Gravestone 汽车大师), but the first one seems like its a random test shot but I don't know from when/where. In any case, unless there's a radical redesign, it seems like Gravestone will always only ever be cab only since his transformation is the opposite of RK/Capone's in that the cab forms the torso, not the feet.

I feel like Gravestone is the weakest of the three Motormasters. This isn’t to say he is bad, but the other two are pretty strong. I do have nitpicks with all of them, of course. I am still kind of surprised the backpack is that large on Gravestone considering he is just a cab. That looks nearly MP-44 sized. It isn’t the end of the world as long as Menasor is really good, in my opinion .

It's funny you mention how he is quite opposite of the DX9/FT version. I noticed how they both have the front of their Breakdown transforming the opposite of XTB too (car hood becoming the legs vs the back/side of the car becoming the legs) I think it's refreshing all around.

I think he looks better than DX9, (mostly proportions-wise) I'm still excited to see how this turns out

This comparison pic was posted somewhere in the Motormasters threads and I added Gravestone.

The front of FT Breakdown does become the legs, but on DX9 it becomes his arms with the back end becoming the legs more in line with XTB's.

It’s probably just me, but this thing gives off massive vibes of the Bayverse AOE Galvatron figure. Hitch becomes the legs, then the cab smooshes down to become the torso and a backpack of sorts.

Yeah, I know, it’ll definitely be a lot more complex than that (maybe we’ll see some more sliding rails, woohoo!), but looking at those renders, if I had to pick another Transformer toy that this is vaguely reminiscent of, at the moment I’m thinking AOE Galvy.

While i feel the upper body is better done in the other two MMs, i really prefer how Gravestone legs, especially the lower halves are, since i don't really like Roadking's trailer bits and Capone's "double cab"

    AHHH! my bad!

I still like the variety in how the bots transform despite being the "same"

It’s amazing we have this bounty of Motormasters to choose from. Is this the most of one character to ever come out at once? Maybe 2nd only to Springer?

The sheer variety of transformations out of the Countach really is amazing. Of course cassettes take that concept to the extreme.
