No real surprise there as Hasbro does mostly go by the cartoon but it's still good to hear.

Personally I want a Marvel Scorponok head. Though it may just mean painting his face yellow like I did Blaster..

Perfect, Scorponok looks stupid in Anime. Rebirth head is nice.

Not sure if anyone else replied, but this only impacts those living in Japan.

Even then, it's no different for Japanese collectors than it is American collectors ordering the figure off of Hasbro Pulse. They just have to go through the official online vendor rather than finding it in store or getting it through some other online source.

The officially licensed Sentinel Scorponok managed to make the toy / Mega Zarak head look cool.

I doubt Hasbro / TakaraTomy's would look quite as nice as theirs, so in a way I'm glad they're going with the Rebirth / Marvel look.

Up until recently, Hasbro went off toys while Takara went off the show. If Hasbro has begun skewing towards the show it's most likely because that was the agreement out of the brand unification.

Makes sense - the Rebirth design makes more sense w/the double headmaster concept, anyway. Not that Takara will necessarily do this, but it's also easier to get the Black Zarak design out of a Rebirth-style head than a Headmasters one

I think I’m this case toy vs show was a bad wording, it’s more rebirth vs headmasters like fort max was and also generations selects crosshairs. The only non hasbro/rebirth head hasbro has done was punch/counterpunch being based off of his headmasters heads.

Be a nice plot twist if Haskaromy pulls a UW Devastator and makes Scorponok's
visor retractable with the G1 toy face underneath.

It lends itself very nicely to John's little hint here about the direction of the trilogy:

More Than Meets The Eye, Part 1 > Pre-Ark launch > Siege
The Rebrith > Scorponok > Earthrise
    Call of the Primitives > Beast-Formers > ...

What's interesting though is that the Headmasters version of Scorponok is more toy accurate than the Sunbow version.

That IS a cool looking face, but only because it didn't include the salad sneeze guard.

Sunbow Scorp look like a Decepticon who's evil.

Headmasters Scorp looks like a Decepticon that went home from the eye doctor after having his pupils dilated.

Seeing how Titan Scorponok is a Double Headmaster, I wonder if the smaller Headmaster turns into a 'Headmasters' Scorponok head minus the visor.

Same here. I never realised the Japanese Scorponok had a different head until now. Marvel Scorponok was the one I'm most familiar with, so I would have been a bit disappointed. (And now I'm wondering if we'll get a new Blaster toy :) . Ah, nostalgia).

The diagram in the bottom-left corner makes it seem like it can swap between visor or no visor, but that's probably not happening.

I'm happy for the guys wanting a Titan class Scorponok, but I haven't the shelf space for it. I still wish we got a Voyager or Leader sized Scorponok based on his IDW take since that one wasn't so hulking huge, but what can you do?

I'm in the opposite camp. I'm glad to finally have all 4 cities in the same size! Makes for a better all out brawl!
