I don’t see how we’re ever going to get their headmasters if we keep praising these updates on obscure figures.

Well the thing is. They probably just go where the money is. If the Headmasters sales are lacking, then they won't produce those. So if people start to massively buy the already released headmasters, via retailers or ebay, and keep asking for them on these boards then they might just release them.

so what are the other pie's mt's principles have hands in because something is clearly "off". i remember the days when they were pumping out releases like their mp fuso bots, the visualizers, their hound....and i thought the seekers were a big hit (i personally soured on them over time but i think they sold well). thunder manus did well too, no? I think their quinjet jetfire was a big odd (and not for me), but not bad. don't know if it sold well though. when did it go off the rails for them? what are they instead focusing on?

Seems so strange to hear people say their cross dimension stuff isn't selling. Sure there are releases that didn't do as well like the jetfire and godbomber, but the Prime got multiple releases, the God Ginrai sold out completely (and is now fetching insane prices on ebay), and the recolors all seemed to sell great. The Megatron seemed to sell well also.

so it just seems they've had some misteps with the last two releases and it shouldn't be too hard to recoup if they still have access to older molds. I bet another release of the God Ginrai would make them some new capital and might help move some of those godbombers.

Of course, it does seem to me that if they had similar problems with the factory that MAAS toys had, then the factory may have stolen the molds and they might not be able to use them anymore. This would mean rereleases are out of the question. Having to make new molds would also explain the issues surrounding the seekers and coneheads.

Good to see something new happening. This guy really looks great.

The only figures I have now are from their REmaster line. I never had any of the Cross Dimension figures. I used to have some of their CHUG type figures, but sold them.

I feel like Maketoys would be in a better position if the Market didn't take a giant leap off the cliff, catch some rockets and take off for MP stylized stuff. I think honestly that's why DX9 has been quiet, and other stuff. There's a lot of competition for the MP market and everyone is working on everything. What we need, is a neo classics revolution with awesome stuff. And good quality control. Cross Dimension I think has a lot of potential, and I want to see it continue.

That Galvatron looks great. Dang, I really need that sucker to stand with my Nova Prime on a shelf.

I think that the market just didn't quite go for Cross Dimensions. You've got IDW loyalists going for IF and MMC, a few BW loyalists spread between the various scales, the ever-reliable MP market, a lot of people switching to Legends... and "CHUG-sized super-poseable super-stylized guys in our own fanfic narrative" was a bit outside what the market would support.

You see... If they went for where the money is we'd already have Brainstorm and Highbrow, because their Headmasters sold out everywhere.
Instead if we want to see anything from Maketoys I suggest we appeal to the 3p consumer base to buy up that gigantic heap of seekers that retailers are stuck with and cannot even get rid of at discount.
Because it's the disasterous lack of sales of their seekers that's having Maketoys in financial trouble.

B... But... Their Headmasters are sold out everywhere. :)
Meanwhile, their seekers are clogging up retailers warehouses.

No Windsweeper II! You are in error! Their Headmasters are available at most of the major retailers that I have checked including but not limited to BBTS TFSource and CP.
