MP44 ain't perfect. Whoever says otherwise that is in denial. Before him, MP-10 was my most decaled detailed upgraded of my MPs. If MP44 didn't come out, I'd have added the latest uber Eness MP-10 detail set to it but MP44 just had to spoil my plans  (I'll be getting that decal set later) as I can't stop marveling at the latter.

That's how much loving I gave to MP-10. Sure the simple aesthetic kinda a turn off given how Siege is all back to hyper details I'd grant you that.

 

When MP-10 came out i couldnt put it down. I ended up with getting a second copy to display so i could play with one worry free. I just dont feel that same conection with MP-44

 

Cool story bro! Hope you keep posting about how much you prefer MP-10 here and keep on keeping this hobby fun! Although unless one prefers lots of visual noise, clunky proportions, limited articulation, fewer gimmicks/accessories, simpler engineering, bare plastic, and aesthetics that echo neither the G1 toy, comics, or cartoon, 44 is objectively superior.   ((WINK))

Speaking of MP-44, how’s yours holding up? You transformed yours to truck mode and back lately? I’m hard up for 45 but ultimately grateful for the delay as it’s allowed this sycophant more time to worship at 44’s altar! So lame enjoying this hobby idk lol

I’m with lord ginrai, still rock’n the iPhone 6 for now. Yeah, Amazed at MP44 every damn day. The best time to be a G1 fan is now.

 

Agree 99.99% though MP-10 borrows some aspects of DW Optimus (the optics sculpting and the ion blaster holder on the back) But it got a wonky forearms design that gives it an optical illusion of being that of a gorilla. MP 44 got the proportions right. Why other people can't see that is beyond me.

Might be personal preference, buyer's remorse or sour graping? Now, if only that knee joint over design was perfected or simplified, this would have been the toy of the decade 

Paint chipping is also a pain and that bent antenna. Fair points but if I hear another complaint on how expensive it is from people who buy doubles of the same mold or 3rd party TFs .............yup Dean ML, MP-10 is definitely superior

That's perfect love it!!! Love how you even slightly misaligned the upper grill where it would be split! These are just too real. I would have loved it if 44 had looked like that - even better finished of with the Freightliner logo being a licensed product. Ah well now I can live the dream through your pics.

I didnt mean the door handles - I meant the handles on the front of the cab right next to the windscreen wiper pivots that are for grabbing and pulling the cab open - can see them on the movie truck pic I posted. I was meaning that realistic proportioned windows and wipers would have allowed those to be squeezed in. MP-10 has them sculpted, but not quite in the right place. But don't worry about it!  

If you're ever bored again, would be interesting to see one with the silver stripe super thick like the movie truck. And maybe a Freightliner logo looking suitably blobby and illegible as it would probably be if they did it. Ah I dunno they managed Jeep pretty clear on Hound so maybe it'd work out?    

 

MP-10 still looks good to me and I wouldn't be surprised if I still like the way MP-44 looks when the inevitable MP Prime V4 shows up. I just hope that by then, qc will be way up with tests done far long before final production and that the cost doesn't go up too much.

 

MP-10 was uber for its time. Just like MP-01. The evolution of the figure is really a great testament to the engineering skill of Takara's talents. 

 

Woohoo, I'm so glad it came pretty close to what you were imagining! Now I see what handles you mean, I'm so ignorant about trucks that I didn't even realize those were handles, I just thought they were part of the wiper rotors, and for some reason my brain turned your comment about them being present on MP-10 into "present on MP-44"   I often need little diversion tasks to do in the evening, so I may get to that thicker stripe and Freightliner logo sooner rather than later.

While I guess I'd say MP-44's truck mode is my preferred look as-is, I'd be pretty thrilled if they made they made the MP-44+ toy version truck mode look like this. I guess it's a long shot, but they did put more realistic details on Cordon so maybe they'd at least do the extra black and silver parts, if not the remolding
