Just built my Zeromaru Shinki Kessho today. It's a nice build, transforming it into the real mode means you have to take the entire thing apart and you have this pile of parts in front of you but the result is solid and looks really cool.
Just keep your eyes pealed for the Dragon Momoko subsidiary company's version of the Metal Structure Nu until then.
Yesterday I attended the Southern California Gundam Model Competition (SCGMC) that's held annually; this was my 3rd year attending. This year's competition them was "Balls, and anything Ball shaped... surprise us". I saw a lot of great models and dios from fans and found a lot of cool classic model kits being sold at various vendors. These was a pretty big raffle contest win prizes, some of the prizes were MGs like Sazabi and F90 Gundam, HGs like Gouf and Wing Zero Honoo, assorted SD kits and vintage kits, and even a HGUC Penelope donated by Bandai! Unfortunately I didn't win anything. My hauls were a Gunpla Skills t-shirt, the SCGMC wristband, a LM RB-79K Ball, a LM RMS-006 Jenice Custom, and a 20% in-store coupon for Robots 4 Less which I just used today to get the Master Grade RX-78NT-1 Gundam Alex 2.0 for about $54. Each year the SGCMC continues to grow bigger, I look forward to the next year.
Yay 'MemberHaros! Where was this held? Robot 4 Less isn't very far from where I work, it'd be interesting to see in-person next year.
Oh hey a fellow SoCaler in this thread, yay! I'm pretty sure they always held it in Fullerton community center every year until last year it got relocated because this event was growing bigger each year. Last year it was at the Fullerton Hotel, this year it was hosted at the Sheraton Fairplex at Pomona. Robots 4 Less didn't go this year, so they left a bunch of business cards with a 20% sticker on it on the front desk at the event for everyone to pick up and use in store, quite cool. It was tough deciding what to get, I really wanted the ZZ Ver. Ka to complete my ZZ Gundam team, but they also had the Hi-Nu Ver. Ka, but ultimately I liked the Alex more; it is my top 10 favorite Gundam.
My rough bonding of the wings turned out alright, and sanded the seams smooth. Looking them in a different light gave me an idea to paint the upper sections. So they're primed and ready to get filled in with the proper color. While the paint dries in the meantime, I finished working into the torso some more by painting the vents, and setting the center pieces in place. All that's left are the weapons, large wings, and the head.
I built bought the PG Strike and Skygrasper several (10+) years ago ... ... ... and still haven't built it. -_-
@Gabriel Contreras and now I want an S Gundam in red. I wonder if a ver.ka S Gundam is coming after the FAZZ? I understand the current S / Ex-S kit is more a v1.5 than a whole new kit. that FAZZ kit is so tempting. It may be the first new MG I pick up once I’m happy with the HGs I have.
I doubt it. The S Gundam was for what it's worth, a near perfect model, but the 1.5 improved the proportions with the new parts from Deep Striker. FAZZ on the other hand is a two fold solution that gives them the ability to make a Full Armor ZZ, anime type and celebrate Sentinel.
I've never built any of them but i'm more than familiar with their reputation. Mechanicore kits are infamous for horrible assembly experiences due to poor parts fitting.
It looks like the HiRM series is finally getting some traction, pun of God Gundam's feet pads unintended. I'm curious to see what's next besides a likely exclusive Hyper Mode God Gundam.. Building the Zero's shield, I had to take a few minutes to get a bow out of the long fin at the back end. The lower gray section wasn't sitting flush against the light gray layer, so this was a job for the ever handy desk vice and a touch of cement in the gap! Once that was done I put the rest of it together. I really don't care much for the sliding track pile bunker tip, but this looks nice. I'll get around to transforming the finished kit into Neo Bird Mode once I get the wings built. I just need to touch up the paint on the back set and work my way to the big feathered wings.
