There are at least two positive take aways here.

1. I'm a total d1(<. It's true.
2. Rucklys writing does suck.

 

Elita 1 was never my favorite design since G 1. It is one of my least favorite design. I don't think she is that versatile of character as well. Right now Nautica and Windblade have more panel time than Elita.

 

I've been okay with her. Honestly, I just like tough leader ladies as most of the women in my life have been tough, brassy gals. However there's been this odd trend that takes her from that Wonder Woman Amazon style that I prefer to make her this weird, stumpy block creature.

I'll fully admit that for me it's a preference thing. I just like it when she at least sort of looks like a girl and not a football tackling dummy.

 

??? I don't get it. Cybertron HAS militaries and also civilians. The distinction is between 'civilian-grade weapons' and 'military-grade ones'. They even did plenty of setting up of how restricted the society is (to the extent most citizens aren't fully powered, which means even people with integrated military-grade weapons won't be able to USE them to capacity) and how rare really powerful weapons are in the first place. What's the issue?

And without getting into semantics with the gunophiles on here, as far as the public goes, there IS a clear difference between MILITARY grade weapons and civilian ones. For instance, the legal version of the AR-15 is a semi-automatic weapon. the Military version is fully automatic. M60s, grenade launchers, RPGs, bazookas, Claymores... military grade weapons. Tanks, plane, ICBMs, etc.... military-grade weapons. The confusion only arises when you're talking about the absolute weakest military weapons like pistols, swords, etc.

 

I don't know what the point of the "military grade" argument is because the only reason to make this distinction is to point out that the culprit is not some random street thug with a knife.

 

I’ve been enjoying seeing the appearance of characters who either haven’t made a major appearance in the franchise, have not appeared in a while, or I simply haven’t seen them before. It’s nice to see a wide range of bots.

For instance, Landmine (the left bot) seems like a nervous, but kind bot. Has he made any other appearances before?

 

g1 landmine (or moreso his japanese counterpart) was in masterforce. this particular design is based on the energon toys core bot mode and was also previously used in idw1.0 for g1 landmine as well

 

Okay, I'll admit it. This series is officially good. I'm fully in on the story. The idea that Megatron is not even the arch villain, at least not initially, with shockwave and Soundwave continually forcing his hand until he has nothing left to lose? The overlapping conflicting allegiances? Spies and moles, and actually showing us instead of just telling us what's going on? Now that the art is consistently better there really isn't a major problem I have with this series anymore

 

I just preordered the trade. I’m looking forward to reading again from the start in physical edition.

 

Feels like Spartacus: Blood and Sand, where the machinations of Batiatus are actually more interesting than the main character and his events.

And "military grade" is a Law and Order,crime drama, NPR, daily talking point buzz word; synonymous with black rifle.

 

again, see animated where ratchet illegally upgraded bumblebees built in stingers from construction/civilian to "military grade". there has been a distinction in the fiction before, especially those times when there are characters actually presented as civilians. what is nonsensical is your issue with it and the fact that you seem to think this is something exclusive to ruckley

 

So anyone got any theroy how starscream will join megatron because my theroy was he was already working for megatron spying on

According to Nautica, Starscream is all about advancing his own position. I think he's genuinely apart of Sentinel's entourage at the moment but won't take a second to start working with Megatron once the tide has turned. That being said, I think its also possible that Starscream is either already an Ascenticon or was. Termagax mentioned that Starscream would visit often. I wonder why?

I appreciate the proper use of the word "whom," though. It's a lost art.

...which are powered by Energon, which this series has clearly established is rationed to the extent nobody can access the full extent of their powers. It's why the Constructicons can't merge into Devastator, which we all know is already capable of being a walking WMD, so that by itself destroys whatever argument you're trying to make. Even "military grade" weaponry (try not to get triggered) is nerfed by the Energon rationing... and the fact that this seems to be by design is one of the key beefs the Ascenticons and the Rise have with the current order.

Aside from that, very few of them DO transform into giant weapons, and those who do tend to be 'weaponizable tools' such as mining drills. I think we're gonna see 'bots redesign their altmodes into weapons as the conflict unfolds. Right now, we see altmodes with weapons, but nothing beyond the standard security-level stuff... the equivalent of having a handgun or maybe a shotgun in your car. I assume there are characters with altmodes that turn into actual military vehicles, but we haven't seen them yet, aside from Megatron who has a tank mode (and who has vociferously lamented the effects of being chronically underpowered)

It's obvious you're so into weapons you view them differently from the rest of us... dare I say... civilians. But that means that we are this comic's target audience, and you are not. People talking about weapons the way you do would induce massive WTFs from the average reader of pretty much any comic book. Particularly for readers from other countries without pervasive gun ownership --where even the cops don't carry guns-- pretty much all firearms would be considered military grade, since in those countries the only people with guns at all are military or paramilitary forces.

It depends. There was a panel where that version of the character appeared. The G1 version appeared a few times in Stormbreaker and MTMTE.

I'm supposing that they've been mixing the Energon and G1 version of the characters for a little while now.
