I think the issue with the different trucks is that it appears the use of the proper Freightliner truck in the BB movie may have been a late decision after his cgi bot mode was designed. In bot mode his windscreen shape, sun visors and curved smoke stacks all match up with details from a Marmon truck, which was probably the truck they were going to use in the movie also, hence the reason the studio series is a Marmon, but at some point they went with using the Freightliner truck in the film.

I think this is why we're seeing very few attempts to make the truck mode a Freightliner from the 3P companies and even Hasbro. The engineering required to have the windscreen change shape, the sun visors disappear in truck mode, and the smoke stacks curve/straighten, would have to be on MP44 levels.

I wonder if in the eventual BB movie sequel we'll see Optimus get a design tweek so his bot mode kibble matches the Freightliner instead? Then we'll probably see more attempts at accurate truck modes.

Just a heads-up, preorders are going up here in Taiwan for $120 US.

 

This FireScorpion has a very big chest and the shoulders are too low. Truck mode is weird (without lights) but I like how the legs are hidden.

 

It seems to be a new mold with heavy influences/inspirations and some upscaled SS parts, i.e the head and chest panels and the overall similar truck mode.

 

i like the truck mode better than toyword's though i do think light on the cab would make it better.

 

i think the ADYI Mech or whatever its called has the best alt mode

I think there's something people haven't pointed out about this figure yet which is how horribly inconsistent this figure is. He has parts from both of his Earth and Cybertronian forms—and I'm not even referring to his truck alt mode. His arms are blue, he has what looks like are straight smoke stacks, and alien wheels like his Cybertronian mode. Then, he also has the circles instead of slits on his shoulders, windshield wipers, and some non-alien wheels like his Earth mode. It bugs me that they didn't commit to one look.

 

It would only bug me if it was released, as it is, this is similar to the TW Freedom Leader whose promo pics also mix parts. We'll see, competition should keep prices down hopefully

EDIT: also, blue arms means he's movie accurate, lol
