Everyone always guessing Botcon characters as redecos of these toys when Takara has never done a Botcon MP, not one single time.

 

It is a curious quirk of history. The arrival of BotCon with Beast Wars starting not long after, leading to several years of beast-themed Exclusives.

But I agree. I don't think we'll see BotCon characters from MP molds, which is why they weren't on my list.

 

just a question. are there any real hints/indicators that tells us that TT will release the other characters? cause im really starting to lose hope. they jumped from BW to BW II

 

In an interview a designer mentioned wanting to finish the season 1 cast. Or something similar to that. They want to finish the main lineup of the original show was the main takeaway.

 

I am 100% interested in buying Botcon exclusive repaints. I couldn't afford any when they were a thing, and I think they are incredibly nice repaints and very interesting characters.

even if they require premium pricing I still think they’d be worth it.

 

You want a crazy redeco theory? G1 Cassettes, basically in name only:

Waspinator gives us Buzz Saw (Buzzsaw)
Terrorsaur gives us Lazorbeak (Laserbeak)
Shadow Panther is basically Ravage

They could do Ram Horn, Beastbox, Squawktalk...

OK for clarity's sake I'll post this again. The interview was in the Generations 2017 book and the text was as follows:



I can't read it but the translations by other posters were as follows...

So no, they didn't say they wanted to finish the season 1 cast specifically, just that they're goal would be the main members of the cast(of season 1 which in Japan is the show, season 2 and 3 are a different show)... whomever they may consider those to be. We also have to be aware that it's a goal, not a promise or a commitment. The designers don't get to make the final decisions on what does or does not get released, we've seen them disappointed they haven't had the chance to do characters in other interviews. In essence they have their wish list but TT as a whole might choose not to do them all.

Also just because we have our own thread now we have to consider BW MP is not it's own line but part of the larger MP line, it might be that once they feel they've done what they can with characters from Beast Wars they'll simply move on to another show (BW II, BW Neo, Armada etc etc) and/or start doing V2's of character they've already done.

 

Thats what i thought too. theyll just finish off the CORE characters and i think we got them already. IDK anymore, just really hope we get them.

 

You and me both. It's absolutely encouraging to read the designers say that they want to tackle the main cast, and it's hard to argue that 'main cast' rules out anyone but maybe Tigatron and Airrazor? However it's also important not to take the quote out of context and start calling it a promise or commitment to product the entire season 1 cast... as that really wasn't what was said.

 

realistically, I think the only core characters left for s1 would be, tarantulas, tigatron and maybe terrorsaur. Actually im not even sure if tigatron can be considered as part of the core

 

Ahem...Rattrap, Rhinox and Waspinator? Don't give me...the Generations figure fill those gaps in fine, they don't and I'm pretty sure TT don't consider that to true either. Tigatron isn't 'core cast' that's for sure but with the engineering already being there due to Cheetor I think he's on the fairly likely list.

 

Yeah I know too... but honestly, do you think TT will still give them the MP Treatment?

Of Course they’ll get the mp treatment! Two different toy lines here. You can’t compare generations to mps, plus the generations figures can’t be used as stand ins because they suck when standing beside the mps. To think Takara won’t give us mps of rattrap, rhinox and waspinator is ludicrous  

 

I really do, I would not be surprised if any one of them was next.

I see him more as a 'one off' that a sign they are moving away from 'Beast Wars' and onto 'Beast Wars Neo'.

 

hold on now I said they 'mentioned they wanted to' finish. Just to be clear that I didn't say they promised to finish anything.

And THAT being said I still think they will finish off the entire cast of season 1 and 2. Transmute too   But that's just my on opinion.
