My friend saw these on Instagram More Than Meets The Eye In Asics x Transformers Gel-Lyte V | JD Sports US
Apparently they are the Gel Lyte V model here is some more info ASICS Tiger GEL-Lyte V Transformers - Release Info | SneakerNews.com as of right now it looks like these were an online JP exclusive through Billy’s Tokyo but sold out from a pre-order GEL-LYTE V(26.0CM 020 MTRP/MTRP): Brands|BILLY'S Online I have no clue if a stateside release is planned... Your right about the mismatching looking odd, maybe they could have added matching swappable parts to even things out.
With today ugly style clothes I see people have mismatched socks on and jogging pants on Ugly yes but every transformer shoe is made I never see anyone buy and wear them where I live people like movies not transformers on everything else
When did these go on sale in Japan? I\'ve never heard of, not seen these, in Japan at any Asics shop, or online news. Anyway, they look really ugly. I\'ll stick to the \"Tokyo\" version of their Onitsuka trainers.
Link in the news post redirects to a site where you can choose from a bunch of countries that are NOT the US. And when you go directly to their US site and search transformers nothing comes up. I would get these if they were cheap, but really they're a super boring and generic athletic shoe with a transformers-themed thing stuck on top.
What?! You mean we're not getting these color drops via Adidas X Yeezy Boost? Or Nike X Travis Scott? Madness.
Sorry if this is a repeat, but I just saw TT tweet an announcement about this along with a promo video and an official ASICS site for the collaboration: タカラトミー on Twitter \ Transformers x ASICS / Transformer collaboration 3in1 sneakers and apparel will be released on Friday, November 15th It has become! I feel like you should be bugged more than that. What's the point of wearing these? To be "cool"? Cause it's not 2007, if it was even cool back then. I just think it's a lot of brand advertising that you're paying a premium price to do. They excessive branding should offer a discount. I know it doesn't work like that any more, but I'm not keen on being a walking billboard either. And if these things were really for collectors, I think the branding would look less generic. These look pretty generic to me! ( I mean "Optimus Prime" or "Bumblebee" is generic as hell. It'd be more interesting if they went niche and secret, like "Metroplex" or "Skywarp". The branding on these shoes is painfully casual!)
