The art is top notch... And the figures are ok because they are cartoon accurate rather than G1 you accurate.

I will get all the main characters like Optimus, Megatron, Starcream, etc...

I think they are a bit pricy also. They should be no more than 15 bucks

Stoked that these are a thing, but not digging the updated box art. Would have preferred the temp art shown at SDCC/NYCC. This new art feels a little too fan made IMO.

I hope super 7 does some actual action masters characters in their ultimates lines, I think it would be cool to get a 7 inch fully articulated Mainframe, Rad, Sprocket, and Over-run as a guest wave.

I agree with the people on this thread who are saying some of the appeal comes in the packaging, and its a whole piece that's worth displaying; on a figure this small, I'm assuming more of the budget is packing than we would anticipate.

Neat to see them pull out some less mainline characters wave 2! I hope the package size doesn't mean Blitzwing is going to get his wings chopped off too bad, dudes always been a super wide set bot.

That is actually an awesome idea.

I wanted them to just replicate the Actionmasters, making more with OG characters that didn't get the treatment.... However I think I like your idea better.

    Maybe both?

Definitely both, Devastator, Shrapnel, Shockwave, Rumble, Skyfire, Mirage, Grimlock, and Alpha Trion are coming in February, that's 14 molds +6 more in May for a 3.75 line which is nearly Triple of anything else done previously, so I think Mattel pulling away from Super 7 was Hasbro's queue to test these waters for items that don't quite fit their own lines.

To me, these are categorically NOT Action Masters (and I'd love to get new ones). Action Masters have knees and transforming accessories.

    (They're a touch shorter, too)

Even with my gripes (see post above), if they made a Marvel-colored Ratchet (which, of course, they won't, since they seem to think only the cartoon matters), they'd totally get a purchase from me.

I think you need to see their He-Man reaction line... if there's a recolour, they'll make it.

I'm actually surprised at how many different characters are announced actually instead of flooding the line with seekers, fairlady bros, golden lagoon versions, hate plague, etc...

I'm loving it. Can't think of any other 3rd party officially licensed merch where we get both Soundwave and Blaster. Mad props to Super 7 for what they're doing and hopefully continue on this path for more varied characters.

Am I out of line for wanting more articulation for that price point?

I was gonna get Soundwave at the very least cause he's always been my favorite...but upon closer inspection, it just looks too "off."

The Super 7 sculptors are sloppy cause they know it's a retro 70s thing, and accuracy isn't that important. It's part of the "charm."

But Takara has done so many superior versions of the Sunbow style stuff going all the way back to the SCF figures from 2001 that it just seems like a waste to spend $17.99 on a "kitsch" figure that doesn't even look as good as those dollar store keychains.

It's a real shame there were only three figures in the Metal Collection line Takara did last year, cause those accomplished what these set out to do, but did it much better.

These aren't awful or anything; I just don't like how sloppy they look in the legs and heads and proportions.

I've seen it. I simply don't share your confidence.

But, again, if I'm wrong, and a Marvel-colored Ratchet DOES get made, I'll totally buy it.

I like the looks of these figures and the character choices. I just wish these S7 was doing a more advanced line ActionMasters with more accessories and articulation. I would jump at a non-transforming line if Hasbro or S7 could do one with various heights and G.I.Joe levels of articulation.

If Skyfire and Grimlock turn out to be a size between the extra large Devastator and the regular figures maybe I will pick up some.

    Nope.

Kind of insane what they're charging for how cheaply made these are. And cheaply made is fine as long as it's cheaply priced.
