Its one of the better ones for sure. I always liked the idea it just wasnt executed all that well. The loose joints didnt help either. Hopefully they have sorted that this time around.

I don’t think it’s actually meant to be ‘battle damage’ on Hoist, it looks like because of the nature of him being a pick-up truck it’s meant to simulate a more weathered/dirty look to him is all (similarly to how Astrotrain doesn’t look like he has battle damage either, if you look at space shuttles in general they look like that at the front & Hasbro’s just going for a more ‘realistic’ look)

I’m sure some would like a more ‘clean’ look (I’m certainly getting rid of it on Astrotrain, as he only has it on his legs in robot mode) but I think it’ll depend on the character now... Sunstreaker/Tracks etc would be spotless, while someone like Wideload as a dump truck would probably have it too.

I personally like the damage etc makes them more gritty and makes for cool dioramas etc.

Thats a good thought actually the ones you would expect to have them should have them.

where/when did hasbro say that the micromasters wouldnt have gun modes and there wouldnt be the weathering/battle damage, because i havent seen that at all, what i have seen is a few people on the boards (that like to be know it alls) claiming that because weapon modes werent shown that the micromasters wouldnt have them (same situation with springers car mode) and they also were absolutely saying that despite the renders having some damage/weathering on some of the figures that the lack of it on the sdcc samles meant it was 100% gone, but i havent seen anything from anyone at hasbro making such claims
    yes

I can’t comment on the Micromaster gun modes, but I’m sure when Earthrise was first shown at NYCC John Warden confirmed that the battle damage was going away now. It wasn’t a specific announcement but he addressed it in response to one of the questions that was asked of him while he was stood round that giant diorama, I think he was asked why none of the new figures have Battle Damage (except Hoist, which I think is more likely just a weathered effect) I saw it on one of the videos that was uploaded at the time.

That sounds like it was mildly taken out of context by most then. “Going away” doesn’t mean 100% gone, at least that’s how I think it should have been interpreted, especially since at least hoist was shown to have something, it more means that it will most like be phased out, like how later waves of siege had less battle damage overall than earlier waves

Since when does the wiki work alongside hasbro? Hasn’t there been countless times where the wiki has falsely presented information that they got wrong?

Referencing each other is not the same as directly working with each other, especially since I’m pretty sure anyone with a keyboard and an account can edit the wiki

Well, we’ve had- what I consider ‘mini-masterpieces’ of Washington, Rattrap, Rhinox, and then not long ago we got Optimal Optimus... but TBH I wouldn’t mind them taking another try at OpOp.
