Is this set worth getting? I want MP Constructicons but I am not really into the aesthetics of these. Will another 3rd party make these eventually?

It’s worth getting if you like it. If not, you should wait. Someone will make another one eventually.

Spending $500-plus on a stand-in does not make sense to me.

They would be hard pressed to out-do constructor to be honest

I agree with your assessment but if he doesn’t like the aesthetics, it would be an expensive compromise.

If the MMC Bruticus is successful, you might see them design an all-inclusive Devastator, that would be more cartoon accurate.

And I think this is very helpful advice, thank you. I am not opposed to the TW Devastator aesthetic, because clearly the MMC Combaticons are similarly light on the paint and die cast, and heavy on the chunky plastic, but I really like the MMC Vortex and Swindle so much because they are very faithful representations of the characters I remember. The difference is I think Devastator is much more a fleshed-out (if you will) character than the individual Constructicons, and I'm not seeing Devastator when I look at this.

All things considered, IDK what anyone can do to make a Devestator that looks like the cartoon other than what before and after did with their "action master" . there is no way to hide the detail unlike some of the other combiners.

It does not seem like anyone is interested at this point in making a competitive set. Highly unlikely IMHO.

And here I sit, still waiting for them to produce the torso fillers for my version one. Oh, and the replacement parts for the cracked joints that Toy World promised sooooo long ago.

That sucks man sorry to hear. For sure the torso fillers will never come to fruition. As for the cracked joints, where did you get yours from? I got the weathered yellow one from Showz and mine had an issue. He played defense for me and got me what I needed. Good luck bro

I'm gonna get Constructor; heard really good things tbh. And I've also heard that the rumored "Fans Toys Devy" that was shown next to Terminus for scale, was ToyWorld Constructor. But who knows, now that they started Menasor and Superion, I'm sure a Devastator will come at some point.

I want this, but I don't like TFSource. Just asked if TFD can sell it to me. Who else is Canada-friendly?

Yeah, I'm waiting for any non-TF Source place to sell it and haven't seen it anywhere else yet. In Canada it'd probably be like $150 shipping and then $200 in customs

I had also read that the TW Devastator silhouette was just put there for scale. I haven't been collecting that long, but long enough to know that you don't get excited about a Fans Toys issue until there are at least full color test shots, if not actual video reviews lol. That said, I honestly feel better about waiting around for a quality, innovative Devastator from the company that just revealed plans for an MP-scale Fortress Maximus in the same year it released the best Silverbolt and Motormaster I could imagine, than I would waiting for Toy World to release anything more ambitious than the same mold year after year after year. If I ever feel like I've waited too long, chances are I'll still be able to pick up the TW Devy. Lots of letters left in the alphabet.

Well this looks mighty tempting. Devestator is the only combiner I give two hoots about...and I've always fancied one of these.
