Same boat. I was disappointed when I opened the box and there wasn't a sticker sheet. The pictures definitely showed him all decked out.

 

I got the IT-02 Version of Dinobot a few days ago. He's pretty awesome, but then I remembered I had a KO Oversized TM Rattrap and the two Scale together pretty well.

 

How is MORE water gonna help?

Thanks, but I wanted to know if tabs on JJ combined mode gun match the tab holes on NBK combined mode hand. I'm sorry if I unintentionally mislead you. I own green NBK KO, so I'm aware of all his "features"  . On mine some ball joints on fingers are slightly too loose (nothing serious, he can still hold his "club"), just like hip swivel on one side (as far as I remember - right side) - I tried to thicken it by dismantling it and adding a bit of tape to provide more friction, but it didn't make a lot of difference. JJ "Long Haul" is my only hope (if he has ratchets on hip swivels). I'd love to replace "Hook" too, NBK one is, well, bad (too much needless retooling) and I'd gladly replace combined mode forearms with JJ's (black), but I guess it's impossible to leave NBK hands on JJ forearms (I guess that in worst case I would have to replace "Bonecrusher" and "Scavenger" with JJ versions).
Too bad NBK didn't make a gun for their version, though if everything else fails, there's still this:

There's every chance they share a parent company, but the individual figures are different. The JinBao is oversized by about 20% where the Daban is the same size as the original GT.

 

Can't say I really noticed much in the way of flaws with mine, aside from the fact he's huge and that makes him a little wobbly. But it's not impossible to manage, and if the newer releases already come with the pieces that the upgrade kit replaced than it'll probably be quite alright.

 

heads up to anyone who bought OS Volcanicus. I got a Slag figure with 2 right back heels. It wont let you Transform Slag in dino mode unless you take it out or flip the piece around. Also some pieces might pop off during travel. Could be just mine but still. The figures are pretty sold overall and don't regret buying them.

 

Man, I need an OSKO of that Siege Impactor toy ASAP. I have several customs that are calling my name! Soundwave and Megatron need him for spare parts!

 

The actual yellow on these figures is a bit more saturated than creamy, but it was hard to get the lighting just right to accurately represent the hue.

Ah, yes... I misunderstood your question. NBK definitely should have come with a different face and a gun. I've never detached the crane for use as a weapon... it just doesn't seem right to me.

Weird, the joints on both of my NBK sets (Yellow and Green) are pretty firm all around. Nothing too loose or floppy. I find that tightening things up with a mini-screwdriver helps too, but if not even tape in the hip gearing works... that must be pretty bad. Mine wouldn't be able to limbo, but the hips are pretty stiff.  

I plan on just hitting the forearms on my NBK Green set with some flat black spray paint. The grey feels wrong to me on the traditional green set.

Now that I have the JB set, I can see how many changes NBK made to the molds. I agree that a lot of the changes made to Hook are unnecessary. I'm not crazy about the way the head folds away... but in the end, the figure still works pretty well and has decent articulation. Too bad they replaced his face with a faceplate.

From my handling of the first run of JJ Constructicons, I probably wouldn't replace the NBK ones (well, maybe Scrapper).

Thanks! I'll also mention that the more blue-ish purple parts from the yellow set look GREAT on the green set. It's hard to capture the exact effect in photos, but the mix of that purple and the green looks like they walked right off the 1980s card art.

I like the maroon/yellow/clear orange combo too, but I'll probably sell the yellow set. Limited space for all this stuff, of course.

More than 20% even, I'd guess... the JB versions are HUGE.

As far as bang for your buck, JB is probably the best set. The individual bots aren't dirt cheap, but they're huge and the quality is good overall. They're a bit fussy to transform, but no big deal. I actually like them in individual Constructicon mode better than in combined mode.

My one complaint about the set is that they are so big and heavy that the joints are not enough to really hold them firmly in combined mode. The ratchets have too much distance between stops, and the whole Devastator tends to flop and lean too easily. Poses won't be easy, and you'll probably want to display him somewhere you can lean him back against a wall or something... because if this guy falls over, it's going to be a big impact. If you think having a somewhat 'floppy' combiner is going to be a big annoyance, I'd maybe reconsider. Otherwise these are quite cool.

The gun can’t be held by the JJ hands and I can’t find the nbk arm I have to test it out.

sadly the arms can’t pull off any more of a pose than this since the joints are weak.

As for ratchets they are very weak if there at all.

Best to have @SirToys search the old shops via the want list, that's how I got more than 1 of the red, orange and camo variant in the last pic.

They both fully transform like the original g1, but are wst scale.
